First Day of School in Prosper!

Let's celebrate our teachers who have worked so hard to get organized for schools to open as safely as possible. We have heard of some amazing and creative ways teachers have developed to engage and teach our children in the new landscape of 2020. They are the true heroes who provide the framework that educates our children and allows the rest of society to function!

Please comment below with a to show your support for them.

Have a safe and productive school year whether your kids are learning at home or in school!

Covid-19 Linked to Oral Health

Poor oral health or overdue hygiene care may be the reason otherwise healthy patients experience more extreme Covid-19 infections, according to a new article published on June 26 in the British Dental Journal.

The bacteria found in the mouth has been linked to the patients that have severe infections of Covid-19. Bacteria that are allowed to get under the gums have easy access to your bloodstream, and therefore can affect a variety of conditions.

In the past, the main conditions of concern with bacteria from the mouth have been diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. This recent study is finding links between these same bacteria and a stronger reaction to the coronavirus infection.

Now it is even more important to maintain routine dental care; not only for the health of your mouth and body, but also to avoid more severe concerns with Covid-19.

Our schedule has never been more full for hygiene than it has been recently due to the availability of appointments earlier in the year. Please call us soon to schedule your hygiene visit and let us help you stay healthy and safe.

Enjoy the weekend!

Will Dental Offices be Shut Down Again?

When Covid-19 first emerged on the scene, there was initial concern about how the virus was spread and what locations were more at risk. The entire country shut down due in part to a lack of information.

Thankfully for your oral health, dentistry has been proven completely safe. The CDC keeps track of how the virus is spreading and to date has this to say about dentistry:

"To date in the United States, clusters of healthcare personnel who have tested positive for COVID-19 have been identified in hospital settings and long-term care facilities, but no clusters have been reported in dental settings or among dental healthcare providers.1,2"

This virus is not spreading through dental offices.

Prior to the outbreak, the only place in the country with better infection control than a dental office is a hospital operating "clean" room.

Even so, we still implemented additional safety precautions to help protect you: safety questionnaires, temperature checks, sanitizing stations, Medical-grade HEPA air purifiers, patients entering and leaving one at a time, and all the recommended PPE. Our office may look a little different, but you can be assured you are safer here than anywhere else.

Maintaining oral health is key to your overall health and to maintaining a healthy immune system.

We recognize that this is a time filled with uncertainties for everyone and we want to assure you of our commitment to provide you with the services you depend on.

Thank you for being a part of our dental family.
Have a great weekend!

FATHERS have a knack for making us smile—even when we’d prefer to be grouchy! Amazingly, they can usually pressure us into smiling through a simple act or gesture—a grin, a proud look, a really dumb "dad" joke.

This next week let’s return the favor! Help Make The Fathers In YOUR Life Smile! Take a moment to think about the fathers (and/or ā€œfather figuresā€) in your life.

Now, think of one thing you can do for each of them this next week that would make their lives brighter, make them smile, or lighten their loads. Remember, it could be something really simple like an unexpected visit or unhurried phone conversation to just say ā€œthanksā€. Whatever you come up with, make sure he knows how grateful you are for the role he’s played in your life.

By helping these fathers smile, you’ll find yourself smiling as well.

Patient Safety Measures

Our patients' safety is our #1 priority. You will notice on upcoming visits that our procedures and equipment have changed during this pandemic.

This is for your safety and ours. What you won't notice is a charge for this. To cover the rising costs of this, some offices will be charging more to cover this added expense. This is absolutely their right and we respect their autonomy on how to operate their practice. We have decided not to do this!

We have taken more steps for your safety, but this cost will not be passed on to you!

During the close we have worked on several projects to allow patients better care and accessibility, which we will be announcing soon. We love our patients and we are choosing to focus on the positive during this time.

Stay safe, enjoy this great weather, and have a wonderful weekend!
