The success of a patient's orthodontic treatment depends on their dedication to wearing a retainer. Unfortunately, approximately 25 percent of patients who wear braces need retreatment because they fail to wear them as instructed and their teeth shift back to their original position. If your teeth have shifted, give us a call – we can help!

The truth is, while your teeth may be the easiest and most convenient tool for getting the job done, they are not the best choice. So, find the right tool for the job and save your teeth for enjoying dinner!

It’s true, not everyone needs wires to have perfectly straight teeth. Invisalign, the non-bracket approach to a new smile, is another great option! Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.

Not only are the aligners invisible, but they are also removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem, and they are very comfortable. Curious how it works? You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to the final position we have prescribed. You'll visit us about once every six-eight weeks to ensure your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case. Give us a call if you think Invisalign is right for you!

Happy St. Patty’s Day! To make the holiday festive, many of our favorite foods and beverages are dyed green today. Patients often ask whether food coloring will stain teeth, and the answer is: not usually. Typically, it takes repeated exposure to permanently stain teeth, so an occasional green cupcake won’t ruin your smile. But we suggest brushing after your meal to ease your mind.
