❗️❗️❗️❗️Due to flights being cancelled today - Dr. Blackstone is unable to get back home tonight as planned! Therefore, all patients tomorrow, March 17 have been rescheduled to Thursday, March 26 at the exact same time. We have also sent out text messages through our messaging system. We are pleased to welcome another orthodontist to our practice in 2026. Dr. Emily Leach is a Maine native and graduated from Colby College and University of New England Dental School. She then received a Certificate of Specialization in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the University of Nebraska and a Master’s degree in Oral Biology. She recently became board certified and was elected to be the President of the Maine Association of Orthodontists.

She is currently an associate at Granite Coast Orthodontics in Rockport Maine. She will be working one week a month for our practice.

This will help Dr. Blackstone cover the time while Dr. Cassidy is out, but we also hope to have her continue after Dr. Cassidy returns. We could not be happier to welcome her to our practice! Her first day will be January 12th, 2026.

At this time of year we all give thanks and I’d like to thank so many people! Somehow, even with me helping Kathy on this crazy cancer journey, my practice is running like clockwork.

Thank you to Dr. Greg Blackstone who has been amazing. I don’t know what I would do without him.

My staff is always amazing, but they have been great through this last few months being flexible enough to get us through this.

The patients and families who have had to have appointments changed at the last minute (sometimes twice). Thank you for your understanding and I’m sorry for any inconvenience we have caused.

Kathy has had 2 rounds of chemo and we should have a long range plan in place by the end of December. The doctors and nurses at Dana Farber, Lafayette center in Brewer and AR Gould have all been great and we are thankful to all of them for their amazing care.

I’m also thankful for our families and friends. They have been there with food, cleaning, shopping or anything else we need.

I am most thankful for my wife Kathleen. We have been married for 39 years and we are looking forward to many more! She has been a rock for our family and we have been a good team for a long time!

I appreciate all of you and miss all of you so much! I am still involved with every treatment behind the scenes, but I miss the interactions with patients, families and staff.

Hopefully, I will be back soon with good news, but for now our practice is in great hands!

As most of you know by now, my wife Kathy was diagnosed with leukemia. She is currently in a hospital in Boston receiving care from the doctors at Dana Farber.

This is going to be a long and difficult journey. My thanks to Dr. Blackstone and my great staff for helping keep the office on track for the last month.

I will be in the office as much as I can but I'm sure there will be times when things need to be rescheduled with short notice.
Thank you to everyone for your understanding when this happens.
We will prioritize the patients currently in treatment to keep them moving smoothly to the end result - a beautiful healthy smile.

Our family appreciates your patience and prayers as we go through this journey.
