Can you get a dental implant the same day you have a tooth extracted? 🦷🤔
The short answer is YES, in many cases! But it really depends on which tooth we’re replacing and your individual anatomy.
Whenever possible, I prefer placing an implant immediately after an extraction. Here’s why! 👇
✅ Preserving the bone – Placing an implant right away can help support the surrounding bone structure.
✅ Maintaining healthy gum tissue – Immediate placement can help preserve the natural contours of your gums.
✅ The type of tooth matters – Front teeth and premolars are often more straightforward, while molars can be more complex because of their larger roots and anatomy.
✅ Every patient is different – We have to consider important structures like the sinuses in your upper jaw and nerves in your lower jaw before determining the best approach.
My goal is always to preserve as much of your natural bone and tissue as possible while creating a strong foundation for your new tooth.
Of course, immediate implants aren’t the best option for everyone, which is why a proper evaluation is so important!
