There’s a small bit of tissue underneath everyone’s tongue and lip called a frenulum. When the tissue is too short or thick, it can restrict the movement of the tongue or lip. Lip and tongue ties can cause a variety of symptoms in babies and breast feeding mothers.

Baby’s symptoms:
* Poor latch
* Falling sleep often in middle of a feed
* Lip curling under
* Reflux or frequent spitting up
* Clicking or smacking noises when eating
* Milk dribbling out of mouth
* Frustration when eating or inability to hold a pacifier
* Poor weight gain
* Short/restless sleep

Mothers Symptoms:
* Painful nursing
* Creased or flattened ni***es
* Clogged ducts or mastitis
* Decreased milk supply
* Use of a ni**le shield

If you or your infant have more than a few of these symptoms, even with good weight gain, your baby could potentially benefit from being evaluated for a tongue and lip tie.

We have been trying not to say the S-word recently, but school (sorry!) is approaching. 🎒 As we transition from our wonderful Summer, we want to invite all of you to our 3rd Annual Back to School Party on September 4th from 4-6 P.M.!

This is a great time to gather as a community for a fun night of bounce houses, family games, popcorn, and giveaways at our parking lot (151 W. 3rd Ave). Everyone is welcome!
