Washington Square Endodontics We have two doctors Ken Wiltbank and Ryan Reese. We are open Monday-Friday.

We commonly perform all of the typical endodontic services, root canals, retreatments, apical surgery (using the microscope), and many others, and enjoy taking care of patients.

Most Premolars have 1 to 2 roots but this one has 3!! Rare anatomy like this is exactly why every detail matters. Patient presented for eval with no pain #12 but there is infection around the roots. RCT was done 10 years ago. Retreatment #12 was recommended. We accessed the tooth, removed old guetta percha, Irrigated with Gentle Wave system used: 3% NaOCl and then 8% EDTA. 0.9% sodium chloride rinse afterward, Then Obturated using BC sealer, gutta-percha, and finally sealing tooth up with temporary restoration. Pt was very pleased with the process and confident the tooth will heal.

🎉Please Join us in Welcoming Dr Lively to our practice!!🎉

Dr. Lively was born and raised in Austin, Texas. After high school, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman before returning to Texas to pursue his education. He completed both his undergraduate studies and dental training in Dallas, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Texas A&M College of Dentistry in 2016.

Following dental school, Dr. Lively completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Portland Health Care System. He then spent eight years practicing dentistry and refining his clinical skills before completing his endodontic residency at Oregon Health & Science University. This breadth of general practice experience gives him a comprehensive perspective on each patient's overall dental health, informing the way he approaches root canal therapy and tooth preservation.

Dr. Lively is a member of the American Association of Endodontists and has presented research at the association's annual meeting. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Multnomah County Dental Society and remains dedicated to education, volunteering part-time at the Portland VA hospital where he teaches residents advanced techniques in root canal therapy.

Dr. Lively lives in the Portland area with his wife and their two children. Outside of the office, family is at the center of his life; the Lively's can often be found camping, playing soccer, and enjoying the many adventures that come with raising two kids.

Curvy Friday Again!! PT presented with throbbing aching pain on #18 that radiated to UL. Pt was diagnosed with SIP/SAP and recommended RCT #18. The anatomy of the tooth shows that distal canal comes out distally and not straight down apically. 5 canals were found. We instrumented carefully and irrigated thoroughly with Fotona Laser, Obturated with gutta-percha and BC sealer, and Placed a temp filling. Pt was very happy to not be in any more pain.
