Local anesthesia. Sedation. Incomplete medical histories.
Individually, these feel routine. Together, they can create unexpected — and preventable — outcomes.

As dentistry evolves, so do the risks:
• Patients are older
• Medical complexity is increasing
• Expectations are higher than ever

Join us for the Cantwell 2026 Memorial Lecture on January 31, 2026 (8:00 AM–12:00 PM) at the OHSU School of Dentistry for an in-depth, evidence-based discussion on contemporary treatment strategies for adolescent patients with hypodontia.

Led by Dr. Dennis Hartlieb, DDS, AAACD, this course explores how to navigate complex clinical decisions when managing congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors—balancing esthetics, function, and growth considerations unique to the adolescent patient.

Through real-world clinical cases, attendees will examine current restorative options, including resin-bonded bridges, orthodontic space closure, tooth auto-transplantation, and the critical reasons why dental implants are often not appropriate in growing patients. The program emphasizes multidisciplinary planning and long-term stability to help clinicians achieve predictable, esthetic, and functional outcomes.

Course highlights include:
• Evidence-based treatment planning for adolescent hypodontia
• Esthetic, functional, and growth-related considerations
• Multidisciplinary strategies for long-term success
• Recognition and management of CMMLI-related challenges

• January 31, 2026 | 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
• OHSU School of Dentistry | Portland, OR
• 3.5 CDE Credits
• Registration closes January 30, 2026
