💛🎗️ September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️💛

This month is especially personal to our Lowe Orthodontics family.

One of our own team members, Kimmy, lost her beautiful daughter Jenna to childhood cancer on Christmas Eve. Jenna was just 12 years old, and her courage, strength, and beautiful spirit touched so many lives.

Throughout September, we are GOING GOLD for Jenna and for every child and family affected by childhood cancer.

When you come in for your appointment, please pick up one of our Childhood Cancer Awareness bracelets or pins and wear it proudly. 💛

For the children still fighting.
For the survivors.
For the families.
And for the children like Jenna who are forever loved and forever remembered.

🦷✨ **When Should Your Child First See an Orthodontist?**

You may be surprised to learn that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends a child’s **first orthodontic check-up around age 7.**

**But don’t worry—age 7 doesn’t automatically mean braces!** 😁

At this age, Dr. Lowe can take a look at how your child’s smile is developing, including the way their permanent teeth are coming in and how their jaws are growing.

An early visit can help us keep an eye on things like:

✨ Crowding or spacing
✨ Crossbites, overbites & underbites
✨ Jaw growth and development
✨ Permanent teeth that may not be coming in properly
✨ Protruding front teeth
✨ Habits like thumb or finger sucking

Sometimes early treatment can help guide growth and prevent a small concern from becoming a bigger one. **But very often, the best treatment is no treatment at all—just watching, waiting, and letting your child grow.**

That’s one of the things we believe in at **Lowe Orthodontics:** treatment at the **right time for the right reason.** 💙
