POV: When you realize volume diameters can create more than just fluffy, volume sets.

Keeping your volume diameter lashes in spikes (not fanning them out) creates a slightly more dramatic take on a natural set…. darker and more textured.

Same diameter, completely different finish.👏

——— Quick tips for creating spikes ———

🔘 Grab the spike higher up when removing it from the strip. This gives you more control and keeps the tips from opening too much.
🔘 Dip at least 2–4mm of the base into your adhesive. The adhesive travels slightly up the loose fibers, helping hold them together while giving you enough attachment area when placed correctly.
🔘 For a sharper, more defined tip, try .07 diameter. For a softer spike with slightly separated tips, try .03. The exact finish will also depend on the number of fibers in each spike and how tightly they’re held together.
🔘 Smaller bundles create a more natural finish.

Volume diameters give you options 💯. The final look comes down to how you use them.

Save this for the next time you want texture without creating a full, fluffy volume set.

With lash extensions, I isolate ONE single natural lash before placing ONE extension onto it. Every natural lash grows and sheds independently, so each extension needs to be attached without sticking neighboring lashes together (we call those “stickies 🫣).

Clusters and strip lashes are placed on multiple natural lashes or directly along the lash line, so they’re much faster to apply… but they aren’t the same service.

A full lash of lash extensions takes time because we’re working lash by lash to protect the natural lashes. We’re also creating a beautiful set that can grow & shed safely.

So when a lash appointment takes a little then than expected…. We’re being precise! 💯

Your lash tray set up does not need to be a guessing game. 🤣

Set it up the same way every single time. When everything has a designated spot, you build muscle memory and eventually your hands know exactly where to reach without interrupting your flow.

It sounds like a tiny detail that doesn’t matter, but this is how you stop feeling scattered behind the lash bed…and build more confidence. 💯 A solid routine will save you more time than randomly trying to “move faster”.

I put the work in for my own education and I take the responsibility of teaching others serious!

I don’t want my students leaving class with a head full of information they don’t know how to use. ❌ I want them to understand why they’re using a specific technique, know how to work safely, recognize when something isn’t right, and have enough confidence to figure s**t out when a real client is lying on their table.

Am I still learning? Absolutely! I’ll never stop learning. But I’m also done shrinking myself just to make my confidence easier for other people to swallow.

I know the value of what I teach. I know how fu***ng hard I pour into my students. I know exactly what I’m building. 👏👏

So yes, Northern Indiana is going to know my name…. because I’m putting in the work to earn it.

Lash extensions are a whole lot of personal preference 🤯 and I’ll stand on that s**t!!!

Now, some things are non-negotiable: using safe products, sanitation, proper isolation, safe placement, appropriate weight, clean attachment, and protecting the natural lashes. I’m never going to play about lash health.

But outside of that? There is more than one right way to create beautiful lashes.

My hybrid sets might be fuller than yours 🤷‍♀️. Your wispy sets might be softer than mine. We might use different brands, curls, diameters, lengths, or techniques…. and naturally, our work is going to look different.

That doesn’t automatically make either artist wrong.

This industry is creative as hell, and that’s what makes it beautiful. So stop beating yourself up because your work doesn’t look exactly like another artist’s and let’s stop tearing other artists apart just because they don’t do everything exactly the way we do.

Know the rules. Protect the natural lashes. Keep learning. Then give yourself permission to develop your own style.

Different doesn’t mean wrong. Sometimes, it just means it’s yours. 💕💕💕
