You don’t need veneers just because you want a better smile.

In this hypothetical cosmetic consultation, I walk through why I’d actually recommend whitening + clear aligners instead of bonding or veneers.

And this ends up being the treatment for a lot of our cosmetic patients.

Sometimes the biggest improvement comes from simply enhancing the color and position of your natural teeth without adding anything to them or removing healthy tooth structure.

Cosmetic dentistry isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes the best treatment is the most conservative one.

Ever feel like you brush every day but your teeth still aren’t as white as you expected?

That’s actually pretty normal.

Brushing is great for removing plaque and helping prevent decay and gum disease, but it can’t completely change the natural color of your teeth.

Your enamel is slightly translucent, which means some of the naturally yellow dentin underneath can show through. Add in things like genetics, aging, coffee, tea and other staining foods or drinks, and everyone’s natural shade can look a little different.

White teeth and healthy teeth aren’t necessarily the same thing.

It’s just the beginning of the smile process.

We take a lot of pride in being as conservative as possible when preparing teeth. Preserving healthy tooth structure while creating restorations designed to look natural, function well, and last.

In this video, you’ll see the initial design from our patient’s Smile Preview transferred directly onto his existing teeth. This gives us a precise roadmap to guide how much, and where we actually need to prepare the teeth underneath.

From there, that same design is transferred onto the prepared teeth to create the temporary restorations. Then we refine the shape, proportions, texture, and overall smile until our patient loves what they see.

And only then do we move on to the final ceramics.

Because great cosmetic dentistry isn’t just about the final result, it’s about being intentional at every step along the way.
