Dental Assisting at CPI Dental Assistants play an important role in any successful dental practice. Students will receive hands-on training in the CPI clinic and Mobile Dental Unit.

Job Title: Dental Assistant

Location: Barry L. Holden, DMD, PC | State College/Williamsport Area

Pay: $23-$26/hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dedicated dental team. As an essential part of our practice, you will play a key role in creating a smooth and comfortable environment for our patients, ensuring high-quality care while supporting the dentist in both clinical and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have.
Assist with Procedures: Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures. Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry and ensure the dental room is well-prepared for each procedure.
Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure that all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
Lab Tasks & Post-Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post-operative care instructions.
Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, assisting with patient charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
Scheduling & Office Support: Assist in scheduling patient appointments and ensuring the office runs smoothly with minimal disruptions. Keep the dental room clean, organized, and well-stocked.
Regulated Tasks: Perform non-surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting.
Certification: Radiology Certification, willing to obtain additional certifications
Skills & Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.
Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.
Clinical Competence: Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.
Communication & Patient Care: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring their comfort.
Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Team-Oriented: Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Certifications: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), CDA, or RDA.
Language Skills: Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus but not required.
Surgical Experience is a plus but not required

We are an expanding and busy dental office that requires motivated, detail-oriented, team player workers willing to deliver excellent patient care in a small family oriented practice.

Responsibilities:
Record patient health information.
Prepare operatory for procedures
X-ray of patients’ teeth when necessary
Assist the dentist or EFDAs during examinations and procedures.
Restock supplies and monitor inventory.
Maintain patient records and instruct patients as needed.
Operate computer scheduling and radiographs. Some proficiency with computers required, of course we will provide specific training as needed.

Salary:
Assistant: $20/hour starting, opportunities for advancement with additional training and experience.
EFDA: $28/hour starting, opportunities for advancement with additional training and experience.

Paid personal days and SIMPLE IRA.

Schedule: Four 8hr days per week 8AM to 5PM, One hour lunch. One weekday off. No weekend or evening hours.
