This smile makeover is a perfect example of why the best treatment is not always the fastest treatment.
When she came to us, she had already been told by other offices that the easiest path would be to remove teeth and go toward implants. But she knew she wanted a more conservative option if possible.
And she was right to ask.
When we looked closely, we found that she still had baby teeth in both her upper and lower jaw, which made her case much more complicated than it looked at first. Instead of where the smile would normally have fewer teeth in certain areas, she had extra baby teeth still in place. That made it harder to create a natural, balanced smile.
So instead of taking out more teeth and rushing into a bigger treatment plan, we built a step-by-step plan to save as much of her natural smile as possible.
We carefully removed the baby teeth at the right time, used clear aligners to move the other teeth into better positions, and slowly reshaped certain teeth along the way so spaces could close naturally and beautifully.
That planning allowed us to finish her smile with:
minimal-prep porcelain veneers on the top
and no-prep 3D-printed veneers on the bottom
We chose the lower option partly for financial reasons, but also because today’s 3D-printed veneers are a fantastic solution. They look beautiful, stay their color better, and last longer than older bonding-style options.
The best part of this case was not just the final smile.
It was watching her go from not even wanting to look at photos of her teeth to feeling excited, confident, and proud of her smile.
This is what modern cosmetic dentistry should be:
smart planning, better technology, and a focus on saving natural teeth whenever possible.
Because sometimes the most life-changing smile is the one you create by preserving, not replacing.
