Dr. Lee explains why fasting is an important step in preparing for a safer procedure.

It helps reduce the risk of stomach contents entering your lungs while you’re sedated.

Follow your surgical team’s instructions for when to stop eating and drinking, and let them know if you’ve had anything outside those instructions. 🦷
