Dr. John Bonds leads our team and finds great satisfaction in helping patients with oral problems find solutions. While he doesn’t waste any time, he does take time to learn about you a

nd your dental needs so that he can provide procedures that keep your smile brilliant and healthy. In terms of training, Dr. Bonds has gone above and beyond the average dentist to bring the best care to our office. He graduated from Texas A&M University with his dental degree as well as a doctorate in biomedical sciences. Before relocating to join our Plano team, he practiced in Coppell, TX for six years. Since then, he has continued to stay updated in his training and advancements made in dental technology, which is why we have a soft tissue laser and digital impressions system on top of standard digital X-rays and intraoral scanner. With Dr. Bonds at River Bend Dental, you’re sure to have a better dental experience from beginning to end!

Clean vs still dirty! Those yellow deposits are called calculus, aka tartar! Make sure you schedule regular cleanings to get calculus off of your teeth. If not removed, calculus can cause inflamed gum tissue and bone loss! Keep that mouth nice and clean and be seen by your hygienist every 3-6 months😁

Ivette, Registered Dental Assistant
Thank you for all your hard work!!!
Ivette is from Garland, TX and has been working in the dental field for almost a decade. She’s performed dental administrative work for five years and studied at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston to become a Registered Dental Assistant. She’s also certified in coronal polishing, pit & fissure sealant, and nitrous oxide. Her favorite part of the job is building connections with our patients.

In her free time, Ivette enjoys hanging out with her 3 dogs—Josephine, Via, and Texas. Her favorite hobbies include listening to music, going to concerts, and working on her 1994 Ford Lightning. One interesting thing about her: she loves learning about and working on cars and trucks!

Did you know that teeth are the only part of the human body that cannot repair itself? That’s why it’s very important to take care of your teeth. Enamel is the outer and most protective layer of the tooth. It is harder than bone, but it can break down from acidic food and bacteria that eat sugars. Make sure you brush your teeth with a fluoride toothpaste and we recommend fluoride treatments at your appointments to help remineralize and strengthen your enamel since it can’t rebuild on its own!
