Meet Our Hygienist, Morgan ✨

Morgan grew up in Central Ohio and graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Rhodes State College in 2018. She was drawn to dental hygiene because of her passion for helping patients feel confident in their smiles while also educating them on the importance of maintaining great oral health.

She takes pride in building meaningful relationships with her patients, advocating for their needs, and empowering them to make informed, healthy decisions every day.

When she’s not in the office, Morgan loves traveling with her husband, Drew, and spending time with their dogs, Tucker and Charlie. ✈️🐾
Fun fact: this summer she’ll be taking her very first trip to Europe!

We’re so lucky to have Morgan on our team!

•🦷Why do your gums bleed when you floss?
Gums usually bleed when flossing because of inflammation caused by plaque buildup along the gumline. When plaque sits on the teeth too long, it can irritate the gums and lead to early gum disease. With consistent flossing and regular dental visits, the inflammation often improves and the bleeding should decrease.

•🦷What is the difference between a cleaning and a deep cleaning?
A regular cleaning removes plaque and tartar from the surfaces of the teeth and along the gumline to maintain healthy gums. A deep cleaning, also called scaling and root planing, is recommended when gum disease is present and bacteria have moved below the gums. It cleans deeper under the gumline and smooths the tooth roots to help the gums heal and reattach.

•🦷When should kids first see a dentist?
Children should have their first dental visit by their first birthday or within six months after their first tooth erupts. Early visits help monitor development, prevent cavities, and get children comfortable with the dental office. Starting early also allows parents to learn the best ways to care for their child’s growing smile. ✨
