A decade of working in dentistry

One of my favorite photos because it was taken just seconds after I crossed the stage and saw my entire family sitting front row, cheering me on as I graduated with high honors from UBSDM. In that moment, I felt a level of pride in myself I have never truly felt before—and this photo captured it perfectly right as a tear roll down my face. Grateful for the support from my family, the people who believed in me more than myself.

***FYI - I-490 UPDATE **

Monroe County drivers should prepare for significant changes beginning Monday, March 30, as two major New York State Department of Transportation bridge projects get underway on I‑490 in Perinton and I‑590 in Brighton.

In Perinton, I‑490 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction between Exit 26 (Pittsford–Palmyra/Route 31) and Exit 27 (Bushnell’s Basin/Route 96). The restrictions will remain in place through Wednesday, April 8, as crews work to replace the bridges that carry the highway over the Erie Canal and Kreag Road — part of a larger $60.8 million infrastructure project.

Eastbound drivers will see daily lane closures from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., while the westbound lane reduction will remain in place around the clock. In addition, the westbound on‑ramp to Exit 27 at Bushnell’s Basin will close on Monday and remain shut down for the entire construction season. NYSDOT expects this stretch of I‑490 to operate with two lanes in each direction, at reduced speeds, for the remainder of the 2026 construction season

EVERY patient gets a routine 3D health scan at our practice. The technology gives us valuable information about the current status of your teeth AND a detailed comparison over the years. It picks up details the visible eye cannot detect. Our ultimate goal is prevention, stability and improved health. When we identify areas of wear, chipping or shifting of teeth we are able to give options BEFORE bigger issues occur that may end up requiring more treatment.

Today is a special day — not only is it National Dentists Day, but it also marks 5 years of BC Dental Design.

When I reflect on this journey, the one word that comes to mind is growth. Solo practice ownership has pushed me beyond my comfort zone and shaped me in ways I never expected—teaching me resilience in difficult moments, compassion for others, leadership through challenges, and humility every step of the way.

I still remember almost everything about my very first day — the excitement, the nerves, and the rush of it all. I also remember the crash at the end of the day, when everything finally slowed down and the mental load caught up with me (see the last photo). There have been — and still are — incredibly challenging days, but it’s a journey I would choose all over again.

A huge thank you to my friends who stuck by me even when I felt that I wasn’t a good friend, my family who supported me every step of the way, and my husband who continues to push me to become the best version of myself.

Most of all, I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to care for such wonderful patients in this community and for the incredible team that helps make it all possible.

Here’s to five years — and everything still to come💙

Working closely with Dr. C, she can help patients understand their treatment options, coordinate scheduling and financial arrangements to ensure clarity, comfort, and confidence in the care provided!

Dana brings 18 years of experience in Dentistry, with a strong background in surgical and restorative care.

Outside of the office, Dana is a proud mom to three amazing daughters (17, 15, and 11), who are her daily inspiration. When she’s not helping transform smiles, she can often be found on the soccer field cheering them on. Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Dana values community, connection, and showing up fully in everything she does.
