Do kids need to floss if their teeth don’t touch?

Even if your child has spaces between their baby teeth, it’s never too early to introduce flossing.

As their smile grows and more teeth begin to touch, a toothbrush alone can’t reach every surface. Flossing helps remove plaque from those hard-to-reach areas, reducing the risk of cavities between teeth.

By making flossing part of their routine now, you’re helping your child build a healthy habit that will protect their smile for years to come!

Is our toothpaste the same as yours at home?

Not quite!

During a professional dental cleaning, we use a special polishing paste and a small, spinning rubber cup called a prophy cup.

The polishing paste is designed to remove plaque and some surface stains that brushing may leave behind. The rotating rubber cup gently polishes each tooth, helping smooth the tooth surfaces and make it more difficult for plaque to stick.

Professional cleanings do not replace daily brushing and flossing. Children should brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and clean between their teeth as recommended by their dental professional.

At-home care keeps teeth clean every day, while professional cleanings help remove buildup that regular brushing may miss.
