Age 7 might sound early for orthodontics, but there’s a reason for it.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation around age 7.

As Dr. Sencak explains, permanent teeth come in during two main phases. The first begins around ages 6–8, with another important phase happening closer to ages 11–12.

An early orthodontic visit gives us a chance to see how the teeth and jaws are developing while your child is still growing.

And an early visit doesn’t necessarily mean early treatment. Sometimes, the best plan is simply to watch, wait and let growth do its job.

The goal is to know what’s happening now so we can make the right decisions for your child’s smile later.

Not sure if it’s time? Ask us at your child’s next visit.

Dental treatment can feel like a big deal when you’re not sure how your child will handle it.

That’s exactly why there isn’t one approach for every child.

Laughing gas, oral sedation and IV sedation offer different levels of support depending on your child, their comfort level and the treatment they need.

Our doctors are here to answer your questions, understand your concerns and help determine the best path forward for your child.

Because when it comes to their care, the best care comes from the best team. 🧡

You know your child has an IV sedation appointment.

But what does that day actually look like?

There’s a plan for every step before treatment even begins.

A familiar Treatment Coordinator. A pre-op check with Dr. Lang. Updates while your child is receiving care. And a team ready to walk you through what comes next before you head home.

Sahanna walks us through the full appointment, from check-in to the best part of the plan: heading home for rest, movies and snuggles.

"The doctors and hygienists were really kind and gentle with my kids during their first dental visit. One of my kids is special needs non-verbal- they were really good about introducing the instruments and grounding everything into present sensory. "This is a scraper; it makes a special noise. Do you hear it?" They were timely, but didn't rush her either. I also really appreciate that I could bring both kids for a double.." says Megs on Google
