THIS WAS IN 2022!!
Our office has accepted a health-care provider challenge to collect the most non-perishable food items. Donations will be given to Wesley House for distribution to needy community members. Please help by bringing your donations to our office between now and November 15th. Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. Wednesday 8:50am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. Friday 8 am to noon. PLEASE HELP US WIN THIS CONTEST FOR THIS GOOD CAUSE.

What have you been doing since the Stay at home order was given? Dr Mendez has spent time outdoors. Cutting trees and burning brush. I really miss my team and patients. Anticipating the time this is over.

There is a lot of fear and dread around concerning this virus. These statistics are presented to help stay positive. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has extended our mandatory closure to non-emergency treatment until April 17. I miss my team. I miss my interaction and service to my patients. Remember this will pass, and we will all be better because of the things we have learned and endured together. Stay the course. Stay home. Stay healthy.

15219. That is latest numbers available from the CDC of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the US. That is only 0.0047% of the US population. Be diligent. WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN. Clean surfaces often. Remember stay 6 feet away from others. We. Got. This. I am still optimistic.

Over this forced hiatus, I have taken 3 hours of Continuing Education over COVID-19 (the disease caused by this strain of Corona Virus). It has been informative and reassuring. As a practice we have been practicing and will continue to practice the protocols recommended by the CDC for asepsis (cleanliness). This has been and will continue to be done for the protection of our team and patients.

One take away from my courses is there have been NO KNOWN cases of transmission of the disease from a counter top or other surfaces. It comes through direct interaction with a confirmed patient.

Continue hand hygiene (wash often). Sneeze or cough into your elbow. If you have symptoms contact your primary care provider and stay away from others. Those with no symptoms, remember STAY 6 FEET AWAY from others and you will minimize your chances of contracting this disease.

How is your “social distancing” treating you? What have you been doing to fill your day? I have been reading, odd jobs at the office and house, and spending time with my wife and dogs.
