We recommend replacing your toothbrush or electric toothbrush head every 3–4 months.

You should replace it sooner if:
✔️ The bristles are frayed or bent
✔️ You’ve been sick with a cold, flu, or other illness
✔️ The toothbrush isn’t cleaning effectively anymore

Why does it matter?
As bristles wear down, they become less effective at removing plaque and cleaning along the gumline. Worn bristles can also be rougher on your gums and harder to maneuver into tight spaces.

A good rule of thumb: If your toothbrush looks worn out, it’s probably time to replace it, even if it’s been less than 3 months.

Healthy bristles = a healthier smile 😁

This month, we’re celebrating Dr. Harrison Smith on 5 years in the dental profession! 🦷✨

After graduating from UMKC in 2021, he began his career at a practice in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he worked for two years before joining Dr. Minnis at Accent Dental here in Pittsburg three years ago this month.

We also want to give a special shoutout to Dr. Riott, who is celebrating 5 years in the profession as well and continues to do incredible work at Accent Dental - Fort Scott, KS!

We’re so thankful for both of them and all they do for their patients. And of course, we’ll never pass up an excuse for a sweet treat! 🍪🦷

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and it's close to our hearts.
