🍬 A dentist invented cotton candy. That alone should tell you something. ⬇️

In 1897, Nashville dentist Dr. William Morrison partnered with a confectioner and invented what he called "fairy floss." He introduced it at the 1904 World's Fair and sold 68,000 boxes at 25 cents each.

Here's where it gets better.

After his patent expired, a Louisiana dentist named Josef Lascaux replicated the machine. He's the one who renamed it "cotton candy."

Two dentists. One sugary conspiracy. No remorse from either of them.

Dr. Arias has chosen to find this funny rather than take it personally. He's been cleaning up cotton candy's effects ever since.

Enamel scores a 5 on the Mohs hardness scale - harder than steel. It's 96% densely packed minerals, more than any other tissue in your body. It's also the only tissue that has zero regenerative capacity. Once it's gone, it's gone. What you have is what you protect.

The good news: with the right care, it can last a lifetime. The bad news: most DIY whitening trends work by being abrasive. On enamel. That can't grow back. Ready to talk about what actually works? Give us a call or send us a note on our website!
