This patient had spent years avoiding dental care after a traumatic experience as a child. Over time, her anxiety became so severe that even the thought of an appointment felt overwhelming and as her dental health worsened, so did the fear surrounding it.
When she came to our office, the first step was not planning treatment… it was building trust.
Her early visits were simply about helping her feel comfortable walking through the door, getting to know our team, and creating an environment where she felt supported and in control. ✨
Once she felt ready, we completed all of her treatment under general anesthesia in one stress-free appointment.
Today, she’s in a completely different place. She now comes in for routine check-ups with little to no anxiety, something she never thought would be possible for her.
Trauma-informed care means understanding that every patient brings a different history into the room. We take that responsibility seriously, and we believe comfort, compassion, and emotional safety are just as important as the dentistry itself. 🤍
If you’ve been putting off care because of fear, anxiety, or past experiences, you’re not alone in that experience and you deserve a team that truly understands it.
