Medicaid is changing in 2027. Here is what you need to know. 💙

Starting January 1, 2027, some adults on PA Medicaid will need to do 80 hours a month of work, volunteering, school or job training. Some people don't have to. This is called an exemption.

✅ In 2027, you can tell DHS your hours yourself. But you still have to answer DHS, or you could lose coverage.
✅ Some adults will renew every 6 months, not once a year.
✅ Keep your address and phone number up to date with DHS.
✅ Watch for texts from 69217. That is DHS.

Has a big PINK envelope shown up in your mailbox? 💌 Don't toss it. That's your Medicaid renewal packet!

Medicaid has to be renewed every year, even if nothing in your life has changed. If the packet isn't sent back by the due date, your coverage can end. And keeping your address and phone number up to date makes sure you never miss it.

The paperwork can be confusing, and you don't have to figure it out alone. Spectrum Health Services has partnered with Pointcare to help you understand your renewal letter, fill out the forms, update your address and phone number, and know what papers to bring.
