Researchers at Penn Dental Medicine are exploring a groundbreaking innovation: a bioengineered chewing gum designed to help prevent oral, head and neck cancers by targeting harmful viruses and bacteria. 🦷
Made using proteins derived from the hyacinth bean plant, this gum has shown promising early results—reducing HPV viral load in saliva and neutralizing bacteria linked to cancer.

While clinical trials are ongoing, the potential is powerful: a simple, accessible tool that could help reduce disease risk and improve public health.🧪
