This can be a stressful time of year for many people. However, stress can take a toll on your oral health? High stress levels can lead to:

🦷 Teeth grinding (bruxism): Often happening at night, this can cause tooth damage and jaw pain.
🦷 Gum disease: Stress weakens your immune system, making it harder to fight off infections like gum disease.
🦷 Dry mouth: Stress can reduce saliva flow, increasing your risk of cavities.
🦷 Canker sores: Stress might also trigger these small but painful mouth ulcers.

Managing your stress is good for your body AND your oral health!

🦷 Your oral health is closely linked to your overall well-being. Research has shown that periodontal disease (gum disease) doesn’t just affect your mouth—it can impact many other parts of your body too.

Studies reveal connections between periodontal disease and serious health conditions like heart disease, diabetes, respiratory issues, and even certain cancers. Inflammation in the gums can spread and contribute to other inflammatory responses in the body, increasing health risks.

Taking care of your gums isn’t just about a healthy smile; it’s about supporting your whole body health!

There's been recent news that has been trending lately about dentists who tell patients that their teeth can't be saved, only to make money from providing them dental implants.

This is shocking behavior and we do not condone it!

Saving someone's natural teeth should always be priority. If you don't feel comfortable by a dentist or periodontist telling you that they can't save your teeth, get a second opinion! Be on the lookout for red flags like pushiness.
