Poppy, here’s to 93 years well lived. We laid my grandfather Jack DeLisi to rest today. The namesake of our office, Poppy Jack grew up in South Philly and raised his family here before moving to the suburbs. He was a cement mason and proud member of the union, of which I’m told he was the longest standing member in its history. His family was from Sicily, and he displayed all the stereotypes of the region. Fiery, funny, outgoing, loving, tough, hard headed, fair, a lover of food, family, fishing and fine drink. He had a better hair at 93 than I had at 23, and was always impeccably dressed. We shared many meals together at where they knew his name and always rolled out the red carpet for him.
He leaves behind a beautiful legacy with 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren and countless lives touched. Thanks for everything Pop. Love you.
