We recently had the pleasure of helping a wonderful patient who was concerned about the dark appearance of her front tooth ( #8) due to a previous root canal. She decided on a crown for #8 to restore its natural look but chose not to crown the adjacent tooth ( #9).

🔹 Before: The darkened #8 tooth stood out, affecting the overall aesthetics of her smile.
🔹 After: With the new zirconia crown on #8, her smile looks brighter and more uniform!

While the transformation is remarkable, it’s important to note some limitations when only one tooth is crowned:

🔹 Reflective Properties: Zirconia, while highly durable and natural-looking, reflects light differently than natural enamel. This can sometimes make the crowned tooth appear slightly different under certain lighting conditions.
🔹 Color Matching: We strive for the best possible match, but slight variations can occur between the crowned tooth and its natural neighbor.

This year, Christmas came early for our family at NVD with the birth of our third child on December 15th!
