Good Morning! When I removed my phone (not the one from the picture … but we had one of those as a kid) from its nightly charger- it said ‘hello’ in a few dancing scripts and informed me that while I was dreaming (nightmaring actually) it had accomplished an Update.
Ahhhhhh, something new on a technology! Which brings me to my Word of the Day - UGGDATE (yes I just made that up).
I have been functional with my phone for a while now. Like my Mom this phone thing has a lot of stuff and ‘app things’ on it that just appeared one day and sit untouched … like finding a gr***de in the house. If you ignore them … they cannot hurt you. Of course there are those inquisitive bored moments that you just want a peek at this new thing, which (as fare as the phone is concerned) always leads down a rabbit hole of confusion and naughty words!
So for today I will be nervous with my phone after it’s UGGDATE … waiting for some pop up ‘improvement’ that will take an hour to get around and/or decline so I can do what I started. Hmm I guess I am really turning into a grumpy old man … maybe I should get an app to watch my lawn for kids walking on it!

Good Morning! I was thinking of what could be a fun Word of the Day and I was not coming up with a thing … then I looked at my calendar and Whala!
Today is my Great Friends John and Laurie Sullivan’s Wedding Anniversary! I have know John (aka Sully, or secret agent Sully) since I moved out to Holland New York for middle school.
John befriended me (when I had none in a new place), and shenanigans have gone on since! A wonderful man and better friend, so when John asked me to be the best man in his wedding (I knew it was mislabeled - because he is a much better man than I), I of course said yes!
This brings me to my Word of the Day (and usable for this date forever) … PERFECT MATCH! From the beginning I could just feel the love that John and Laurie felt for each other … but there was more! John and Laurie do not fit like ‘hand in glove’, but more like two hands holding each other tight!
Life isn’t all ‘ducks and bunnies’ and John and Laurie have faced many challenges together - united as a force to take on all comers. They laugh loudly, smile often, and work together always … solving problems causally. And the is why John and Laurie Sullivan are a PERFECT MATCH and my Word of the Day!
PS I am sure that I have pictures from the wedding … but they be on stone tablets and hard to post. So I used John’ night school graduation picture.

To my wise Dental Friends (and radiologists). A few weeks ago I saw a patient who has this unusual areas bilaterally that could be in the carotid areas. I have never seen this appearance before, and I am seeking help in potential definitions, to determine my next action.

Good Morning! It was a big project weekend! Of course I did battle with the leaves (I took round 1 … but the trees have more am******on for future battles!)
I ventured to my basement mess after my plumber friend came by … and as I was putting my wall back up … realized that I actually needed another shelf! (Where there is wall - there shall be shelf). So I picked up necessary wood, paint (shortly after purchase, I realized that I already had black paint, forcing the return of purchase … to the laughter of my friends at Home Depot - “already had it, but couldn’t find it?” - “Yep”),brackets and screws.
First was design, then measurements to see if design would work, find studs (besides me), paint the boards (watching paint dry - so not speed it up), and yesterday was build day!
“still no mention of Word of the Day … what gives?” I am coming to that!
Shelf installation should be 1,2,3 easy for ‘Shelfman’ - but it took most of the afternoon along with cleanup. “OK so what is the Word of the Day?” With all of the basement work I never did get to sit at my patio table for a meal or relaxing. Which means that I MISSED AGAIN (he he he Sneaky Word of the Day alert). Another summer of put the table together … and no use (fire pit travels too). I will leave the yard stuff out a few more weeks to try and use at least one time … but until then I MISSED AGAIN is my Word of the Day!

Good Morning on this non clinical day from the not too sunny and quite chilly porch! Well today I think I WILL BE IN HOT WATER! ‘Oh no Doc what is wrong’ He He He … that is the response that I expected (I am such a trickster).
I will attempt to straighten up basement … which is always trouble … but today … I hope to be IN HOT WATER after I am done straightening - because the excellently skilled, hard-working plumber, Steven Landis (a photo of his card is attached, if you have need) replaced my failing HOT WATER heater yesterday.
For about a month or so I noticed that the HOT WATER was more of a kind-of-warm WATER - shower faster thing. So I called Steve (recommended by Tyna - no better recommendation on the planet) - we set a time for him to take a look, and replace my dripy outdoor faucets before winter too.
Steve came prepared to replace, found out that indeed the WATER heater needed replace - and got right to it.
Efficient and hard working, that he was, got jobs done in no time.
Of course this job had me in HOT WATER before it could even started because the tank was tucked in a little paneled area in my basement … which of course I put shelves on! I cannot have a wall without shelves! (at least I used screws to hold paneling and shelves when I did my shelf thing … just in case!)
So that is why I WILL BE IN HOT WATER is my Word of the Day to make you laugh (and possibly shake your head a bit).

Good Morning! The rain has picked up outside … so today will be an inside day - more specifically BOXES, PAPERS AND COMPUTERS - ‘oh my’.
Last week we had a sink problem in the bathroom (hmm there is no bath), restroom (again not very accurate), John (a lot more ladies than men - actually man) - what ever you want to call it room. I could take in apart … but the how to actually fix it was over my head and Tyna came to the rescue (which happens a lot over 30 years) with the name of a very nice young man plumber that she knows.
Steve Landis (Steve Landis Plumbing) came and fixed our issue - lickedy split! Well I have had little plumbing annoyances for a while in my little house … so I asked ‘do you fix little plumbing issues in little houses’ and Steve is here now.
My leaky outside faucets are to be replaced, and the ‘mostly warm … but not really consistent’ water heater (came with the house - unknown age) is dying and to be replaced too. Big day - for Steve.
For me it will be a catch up BOXES, PAPERS AND COMPUTERS day.
So stay dry, avoid witches and guy with big fuzzy hats, and I will battle the BOXES, PAPERS AND COMPUTERS ‘oh my’

Good Morning! It has been quite a work week, with just enough computer problems to cost me a few more hair follicles. Last night as they were leaving ye old Toothbarn for the night … I told my ToothFairies that ‘we really made a difference in people’s lives today … have a Great Night … you deserve it!’ We were all tired … but a GOOD TIRED!
I cannot give details … but there is no better feeling than watching the fear leave the eyes of person needing help, and being able to say ‘we got this and you will be all right’. Not always easy to do … but always rewarding!
So coffee in hand, Classic Hits on the speaker I am recharging from my GOOD TIRED! to be able to do it again - I love what I do for a living which gives me my Word of the Day - GOOD TIRED! most days!
I hope your travels let you make a difference and have a GOOD TIRED! yourself.

Good Morning! Yesterday was proof that I hadn’t dreamed that I ordered Ryobi battery powered snow blower sometime during a mid nightmare wake-up event. Sleep shopping can be dangerous!
For the past several years my Ariens snow blower would start well in the fall check time … but not so consistently in the winter. Up super early when it is a thousand degrees below zero - with wind; I would gear up in my Carhartts and pack boots to battle with the elements, so I can get to the street (yes to remove the snowplow end of driveway wall of ice) and semi zoom (dial it down for icy roads) to our office. Then 74 pulls later with my shoulder falling off (a strong yelling at snow blower) … I put it away and shovel the driveway.
I had gone to a Ryobi lawn mover a few years ago (have the appropriate batteries and charger) so that was my choice.
“Hey Doc which one (or more) of those thousand words is the word of the day?” I am getting there!
As I was ready to leave - it was raining hard (and I didn’t want my package to sit out in the rain all day) so I put and old folded up tarp with bricks in the driveway with a sign ‘please cover if raining’. I had gotten a text that I was 4th or 5th on the delivery schedule, so the delivery people would have done a lot of lifting - before even getting to me!
Here is the Word of the Day - ABOVE AND BEYOND ! I don’t know if it was still raining when the Home Depot truck got to my house … but those Home Depot delivery people read my note, used the tarp, and wrapped up the giant snow blower box like a Christmas present, and set it down on the side of my driveway so I could access the garage enterance - ABOVE AND BEYOND!
That’s what we used to say when we say exceptional service!
So for the Home Depot delivery team Thank You for going ABOVE AND BEYOND and restoring my faith in the work force.

Good Morning! Well yesterday’s Word of the Day was a little Tacky, maybe I can do better today. (Probably still a ton of pun).
Well, yesterday was a full day at Ye Old Toothbarn, and I don’t seem to hold up on ‘those days’ as well as I used to. I can preform to the level I expect of myself all day, but when it is chart pile, correspondence, and computer stuff … I fall off the cliff of exhaustion. (No Boo Hoo for me - I love what I do).
I really wanted to stay up for the Awesome Buffalo Bills game … but knew I could not if I wanted to be at my best today. So I went to sleep.
Speaking of Best … (I did get to watch the highlights this morning) … Word of the Day alert - JOSH ALLEN is just so special. These NFL (not Word of the Day - just capital letters) players are all huge, fast crazy athletic, and JOSH ALLEN just outruns, runs over, jumps over … and throws the ball too - looking like a dad playing with his kids. All the while being ‘a big kid’. I cannot imaging how sore and bruised that Josh is today … but I will bet that he is Smiling!
That is why JOSH ALLEN is my Word of the Day … not just the great athlete stuff … but the always Big Smile to go with it (this is a Dental Thing!)
