Good Evening! Yes again my Morning turned to Evening in the blink of an eye!
A lot of STUFF is going in the ye old Toothbarn. We are working on our intraoffice COMMUNICATIONS.
In dentistry there are specific words for instruments, materials and procedures with code numbers to boot. We can be very specific there … but occasionally our COMMUNICATION between each other lags a bit.
These lags have created unnecessary tension and need to stop. In dentistry our treatments involve very high needs for precision, where we pass many quite sharp instruments - so COMMUNICATION is imperative.
That is why COMMUNICATION is my Word of the Day- Night! Have a Great evening!

Good Morning! As I was planning for the day being May 32nd … I had no more squares on my calendar! So today was flip the calendar day - to JUNE! (Word of the Day alert - it is all of those Capital Letters that tips you off!)
JUNE was always that month when summer was reving up! School was either over for the year during my college years … when I could start my crazy ‘Summer Jobs’, soon to end before college (or later for when my children were small) … getting ready for a summer fun adventure, or now outdoor projects!
Our official office summer time off is in July … but we think about it JUNE!
One more JUNE thing is that I have done a new Spot (remember that is what we call them in the Biz) for 102.7FM for JUNE hence the hat picture … listen for a touch of crazy fun!
Have a Great Day!

Good Morning (somewhere in the world … that is not here, but I like to start with Good Morning). I started this last day of May early enough … but somehow pittled away enough time, that I had to zoom to meet Coach Ric at the gym. Couch Ric does not like when you are late!
After the gym (and our Wegmans coffee time), I stopped in the office for some super enjoyable (cough cough) paperwork, then home for yard work.
As I got out my tools - I saw it (Word of the Day alert) CLEMATIS DOWN! Yes my fancy purple flowered climber was on the ground - trellis and all! My mind drifted to a happier time in the early spring when the CLEMATIS began its climb on his trellis. All was good - but my friend got a little full of himself and - CLEMATIS DOWN!
A quick trip to Home Depot for a bigger trellis … which has to be an accessory, because CLEM was too wound around trellis one!
Well, you can see my engineering marvel ‘the old dual trellis secured to the fence trick’ as my friend Max would say … which is a little long - leaving CLEMATIS DOWN to be my Word of the Day. I lead such an exciting life! Have a Great Evening!

Good Morning! The birds are pretty chatty at the feeder this morning … probably trying to tell me how much they like the new mixture (custom made by you-know-who - no recipe). It is pretty damp and crisp out there, which reminded me of waking up in my sleeping bag in the chilly mornings at CRYSTAL BEACH.
When I was quite young my folks rented a cottage at CRYSTAL BEACH Ontario for the summer. All summer we were out of the city with great freedom to go … well anywhere! Even though it was another country (and still is), we already spoke the language (just add an Ah or two), and life was slow and easy! Sure there were chores, but mostly up and out in the am, return for dinner and maybe out again afterwards.
Eventually my Dad bought a place - expanded it, and fixed it up (yes there was child labor) into quite a place. Of course boys still slept in sleeping bags outside … on lawn furniture! With just your head popping out, you could breathe in the night chill, and stay warm - a great way to wake up … until you popped out and darted to the house for a bathroom run!
Great Days - and this mornings chill brought them back. My angel sister Kate bought me the lovely drawing of The CRYSTAL BEACH Amusement Park, which I added to from the internet … and I just relocated them to a nice spot in my living room. That is why CRYSTAL BEACH is my Word of the Day today.
I hope you recall a nice memory today … that can put a smile on you face too!
Have a Great Day!

Good Morning! It looks like a lovely day in Rochester. Maybe a yardwork day! First an early appointment, and then off to Legends Radio station for a new spot (that is what we call it in the biz). I plan to be inspired before I get there! (102.7 FM if you want to listen to the magic!)
Well as you can see in my pictures - it is time for my fun summer table cloth (it is plastic not cloth). Mom had a fish tank for a long time, and these colorful little guys just make me smile. Which brings me to my Word of the Day - THERE IS SOMETHING FISHY ABOUT THAT OLD GUY! Kind of suites me … all professional on the outside wearing his scrubs, crocks, and surgical glasses … but you can tell that there is some story just swimming around in there - waiting to jump out! (not that I ever want to distract you from the joyful sounds of repairing teeth! He he he).
Have a Great Day!

Good Morning! Alexa decided to wake me to piano music - needless to say I believed that I dreamed of being in a concert hall for an extra hour. Yesterday started out with a few staring ToothFairy eyes as I entered our morning meeting. Hmm … was my hair standing up - not much chance of that, was I wearing the wrong scrubs? Backwards (again) - no, I hadn’t changed yet. I wasn’t late ??? Then Cami said “where’s the BREAD Doc?”
What BREAD? Ahhh I didn’t miss payroll … I was so confused! Well after a bit of guessing, I remembered that one of our sweet lady patients came to the office at the end of the previous day, and dropped off a lovely thank you note with homemade BREAD!
I was still finishing up, and only heard part of what had transpired (obviously missing something), and found the well wrapped package on our table. Ooo must be for me! - and I took it home.
I am now the BREAD THEIF - totally innocent mistake (not like the cheesecake incident of 2001 - ooo that was scary).
I did enjoy a slice of said Stolen BREAD for a nutritious breakfast as I ran out the door - it was totally worth any sentence that I receive. To lessen my punishment, I am returning the delicious BREAD … meticulously rewrapped with the original ribbon! I will use my Vulcan mind tricks to make them forget, and say something like it was misplaced - you don’t think they will notice?
So BREAD and of course BREAD THEIF is(are) my Word of the Day!
Have a Great Day!

Good Morning! We had a triumphant return to ye old Toothbarn yesterday! I opened with a bang by going in early to finish an implant retained crown, replacing a front tooth. To me all tooth repairs need to be a perfect match … but a FRONT TOOTH for a pretty smiling lady … that has to be Perfect.
Dr Lowenguth placed the Straumann fixture - perfect as always - and like a Josh Allen pass - I had to catch the ball. No pressure there!
I knew that this project would need a physical model, so we made a physical impression for me to play with at our last appointment. A while ago my great friends at Rochester Technical Group showed me the proper technique for making a tissue model. Sometime you just need a model to hold and look at.
During a late evening last week my design had a few hiccups (and there was the evil power outage that forced me to start over), but I customized a Straumann abutment with just the right amount of gingival height to create a nice tissue emergence for a well hidden lingual screw access. Then I scanned from every angle … and it was CEREC time (quite a bit of it). I had selected a shade base previously - drew up a customization map, and had milled … but it was final contours and custom shade time when I arrived (big fun for me). Remember FRONT TOOTH!!!
We were all smiles at appointment time - everything just went great … the only thing missing - was me not remembering to take pictures … ahhhhh! So FRONT TOOTH is my Word of the Day … and here are lovely totally unrelated pictures of a few yard visitors - I think little bunny is smiling with his front teeth!

Good Morning! It was a much needed long weekend at home for me. I cannot keep up the hours that I used to when I was younger … but with breaks
… I did get a lot done here at home.
My Word of the Day this morning is BIRD BRAINED. I used to think that BIRD BRAINED was an insult … but now I realize that it is a compliment … and a greatly relaxing state of mind.
Since I put the little plastic tray on my sunporch window, so many years ago - I have spent endless early morning hours enjoying my flying friends. The DeerBirds don’t come by as often since I spiced things up, but SuperSquirrel pops in for a laugh.
I can relax hearing the chirping and singsongs of my bird friends while all of the world’s problems stop for a while. Not so much ignoring all of the problems in our crazy world … just taking a break and being BIRD BRAINED for a while!
Have a Great Day!

Good Morning! Another non clinical day … I may need retraining - but I did need the rest! I want to thank my friends at Greenlight for fixing my internet problem. Two kind souls came to my home armed with knowledge, effort, and big smiles. As they replaced my fiber optic wire - they placed orange flags every few feet for me to mark - where not to dig. I will be taking many photos with my tape measure for the future!
That could easily be a Word of the Day, but today is about another flag - the Stars and Stripes! Today is MEMORIAL DAY (obvious Word of the Day alert) when we honor those who have died in service of this great country. I don’t say Happy MEMORIAL DAY because thinking of all of the families disrupted in losing a loved one protecting our country is sad to me.
All I can say is Thank You for protecting my family from those intent on toppling our democracy. You are the reason that my freedom exists - I will honor it, protect it, and never forget!
Have a Great Day!

05/24/2026

Good Morning! I cannot add a picture at this time because of my Word of the Day … actually the past few days!, and maybe more! Because my Word of the Day is OOPS (yes that little word has popped up again).
Friday evening as I was putting away my yard tools - I noticed another head of the evil Lilly of the Valley invasive W**d sticking up. Well I just so happened to have my handy dandy w**d digger in hand!
I said ‘Good By W**d and all of your tendrils’ as I dug around my prey. Ha Ha Ha! Then I finished cleaning up and came inside.
Well for some reason my Greenlight Internet was out …. Hmmm. I had been very careful while digging out the sod … and had a general idea where the not very deep little fiber optic wire was … no not again … I was super careful … must be a general outage. No!
OOPS - I checked to modem and sure enough - no internet connection - power was no - but no signal. Not a big emergency so I decided to call early in the morning on Saturday while I finished my mulch project - before the rains came.
The nice man from Greenlight (in Houston) confirmed my issue and said that a Technician would be at my house between 7:30 and 8:00am - wooo hooo! No one came so I called back at 11:00ish, and learned that ‘OOPS’ my call was logged but no one was sent. After a number of holds (and the weather worsened), I was told that someone would come before the end of the day - all good!
I don’t remember what time it was - but the rain poured as the wind howled when a nice young man from Greenlight showed up. We walked around generally tracing the paths of the wire; and he confirmed with a chuckle that something was cut somewhere. He did all he could … found the ‘node’ but not the ‘super gizmo’ that needed to be gotten too, and could not fix the issue. OOPS - too wet to connect to.
So my OOPS problem has turned to an unplugged weekend so I have quietly (no internet radio) moved pictures and worked in the basement. I think this can go through on data - we’ll see!
Have a Great Day!
