For years, she struggled with constantly breaking teeth. And while the visible wear was hard to miss, what most people couldn’t see was the deeper story, underlying functional issues that had gone unaddressed for a long time, quietly putting her entire smile at risk.

💙 Happy Father's Day 💙

Father's Day always brings a mix of emotions for me.

Four years ago, I lost my father, Calvin Davis, and not a day goes by that I don't think about him. He wasn't just my dad—he was my protector, provider, teacher, and best friend. As a single father, he took on every responsibility with strength and grace, making sacrifices I didn't fully understand until I became an adult myself.

My father taught me the value of hard work, integrity, perseverance, and compassion. He believed in me long before I believed in myself. Because of his love and unwavering support, I was able to pursue my dreams, build a career, and eventually open Smile Village Dental Care.

One of the greatest lessons he taught me was that success isn't measured by what you achieve, but by how you treat people along the way. His kindness, generosity, and dedication to family continue to guide me every day—in my life, in my practice, and in the way I care for our patients.

I know Father's Day looks different for everyone. Some are celebrating their dads today. Some are celebrating as fathers themselves. Some are honoring stepfathers, grandfathers, mentors, or father figures who stepped in when they were needed most. And some, like me, are carrying both gratitude and grief as they remember a father who is no longer here.

No matter where you find yourself today, I hope you take a moment to reflect on the people who helped shape your life. The lessons they taught, the sacrifices they made, and the love they gave often become the foundation upon which we build our own lives.

Chipping, wear, hygiene struggles it all adds up, and it's more common than people think.
