Getting a single dental implant usually means placing the implant, letting it heal for three to four months, then adding the crown on top. In many cases we can remove a compromised tooth and place the implant the same day, cutting down on total healing time. Every timeline depends on your bone and overall health.

How bad does a dental implant actually hurt?

Dr. Sam Caruso gets asked this all the time. His answer: way less than most people assume.

Most patients go home and manage with Tylenol and a couple of ibuprofen. Most don't need narcotics at all.

Send this to someone putting off implants because they're nervous.
