At Tri City Endodontics, "Attention to Detail" isn't just a phrase—it's our mantra.

Recently, we encountered a complex case involving Tooth #19. While a pre-op CBCT scan was a bit "fuzzy," our initial assessment suggested three canals. However, during the procedure, a subtle "off-centered" look in the distal cone revealed a hidden challenge: a missed distal split.

The Choice:
1️⃣ Leave it alone and hope for the best?
2️⃣ Or go back in to properly instrument and seal the canal?

For us, the answer is always the latter. Even though it meant a 20-minute delay, we know that missed anatomy is a leading cause of treatment failure. 🛑
Leaving bacteria behind can lead to persistent pain, infection, and bone loss. By taking the extra time to locate and seal all 4 portals of exit, we significantly increased the odds of long-term success for our patient.

We know how scary a sudden accident can be, especially when it affects your smile. Recently, our team at Tri City Endodontics helped a young patient who experienced blunt force trauma to her face.

While the situation was stressful, our team jumped into action the very same day to ensure she felt supported and cared for.

The Challenge:
The impact resulted in fractures to three of her teeth, involving both surface chips and more complex fractures reaching the inner part of the tooth.

Tooth 7: A simple crown fracture.
Teeth 26 & 27: More complex fractures that reached the inner pulp of the teeth.

Our Gentle Approach:
Our priority was to relieve discomfort and restore her smile immediately. Led by our endodontist Dr. Nikhil Malhan, we moved forward with:
A natural-looking composite build-up to restore the tooth’s shape.
Root canal therapy plus post & core to save the natural teeth and provide a strong foundation for the future.

The Result:
We are so happy to report that the patient left our office feeling relieved and thrilled with her results! Because there was no mobility in the teeth or injury to the bone, she is on a smooth path to healing.
