Snoring is not normal. Your child’s airway health is too important to overlook. By addressing potential issues early, you can set them on a path to better sleep, stronger growth, and improved health. At Exceptional Dental, we’re here to partner with you in protecting your child’s future.

Question of the Day!
Q: “Dr. Buse, are electric toothbrushes really better than manual toothbrushes?”

A: “Electric toothbrushes are an extremely effective tool for superior oral health when used with a proper brushing technique. Remember, ANY toothbrush is only as effective as the person brushing with it! We absolutely recommend electric toothbrushes for our patients – they do an excellent job when used properly. Multiple randomized studies support the effectiveness of electric toothbrushes (See this page to review multiple articles here: https://www.dentalcare.com/en-us/featured-dental-research/oral-b-oscillating-rotating-electric-toothbrushes). Ultimately, we are here to work with each of our valued patients and will help you develop exceptional brushing and dental home care habits, regardless of your toothbrush choice. I often spend a lot of time with my patients ensuring that they have the correct brushing and flossing techniques because it is the foundation of their oral health. That truly is the key – not just the toothbrush.” -Dr. Buse 😊

MEET YOUR DENTIST!!!!

In the community of Parkville, MO, a unique dental practice stands out—not for its massive size, volume of patients or substantial earnings, but for the heartfelt, unwavering, and focused approach of its owner.

Dr. Daniell Buse began her career quickly realizing that not all dentists are equal, and sadly, most patients do not know the difference. When she began practicing, she assumed all dentists practiced with the same knowledge, skill, attention-to-detail, and honesty that she considered “normal” and “expected.” However, in her almost 15 years of practicing dentistry, she came to realize that her skillset,
integrity, and dedication to her patients are extremely rare, mostly because it focuses on doing the best thing for the patient, not on just achieving the biggest profit for herself. Dr. Buse realized she needed to create a practice that embodied the exacting standards of dentistry and ethics that are at the heart of her philosophy, the very things that truly set her apart.

Exceptional Dental’s mission was simple, yet uncommon: to remain intentionally small, ensuring every individual received thoughtful, personalized care...where procedures are never recommended for the sake of insurance reimbursement, but rooted in what is genuinely best for the patient. While they offer comprehensive, whole health dentistry—including cosmetic work, implants and restorative care—sleep dentistry became particularly meaningful after Dr. Buse’s personal experience with her own child’s sleep apnea. Pursuing advanced certification through the AADSM, her practice now helps patients of all ages
find lasting relief from this often-overlooked condition.

Exceptional Dental was not without its flaws. Updating the historic 1952 building and maintaining a small patient base was not without its challenges, but the rewards were felt in the trust and gratitude of patients who valued a whole-health approach. Community involvement, from sponsoring school events
to volunteering with youth sports, further anchored the practice. While the interior of the building gives a calming, spa-like feel, the updates are far from over. They are anxiously anticipating refreshing the exterior of the practice to match the standard of care offered by Dr. Buse.

How did this Nebraska native end up in Parkville? She would love to tell you, if given the opportunity.

However, she wanted to share the following: She is a small-town girl at heart, a former collegiate track and field athlete, and has worked very hard, but is extremely grateful for each opportunity she has been given. More than anything, she feels blessed to have her husband, Eric, a bio-medical engineer, who has
chosen to support her in her mission of Exceptional Dentistry. Together, they’re raising a growing family—Allie (9), Asher (7), and Elliott (4), and their newest arrival in December, Eleanora. Life is full, fast, and deeply fulfilling, rooted in a simple promise: always do the right thing, and always put people first.

Looking ahead, the focus is on mindful growth of the practice. Exceptional Dental, as its namesake implies, is likely not for everyone. Dr. Buse realizes not everyone values or hopes for optimal oral health, is willing to spend the time that is required to achieve this, and that some people don’t want to have a
partnership with their dentist – that is OK! However, she hopes and believes there are some who desire a higher standard of care and appreciate personalized dentistry. She is knowledgeable, available, and eager to serve this patient population as a partner in lifelong oral and overall health.
