Summer Smile Prep: Keep Your Teeth Strong All Season Long! 🦷

Hey friends! Summer is here — beach days, backyard BBQs, sports tournaments, and travel adventures. While we’re soaking up the sun, let’s make sure our smiles stay healthy and bright. Here are 3 simple, real-life tips to protect your teeth this season:

1. Mouthguard for Sports 🏀⚽
Whether your kids are playing baseball, you’re joining a summer league, or heading out for pickleball — wear a mouthguard.
• A custom-fitted one from your dentist is best, but a good boil-and-bite works too.
• They prevent cracked teeth, knocked-out teeth, and expensive emergency visits. Summer sports injuries spike — don’t let one ruin your smile!

2. Rinse After Sweets 🍦🍭
Ice cream, lemonade, s’mores… summer treats are delicious but acidic and sugary.
• After indulging, swish with water for 30 seconds. This helps wash away sugars and neutralize acids before they attack your enamel.
• Bonus: Wait 30–60 minutes before brushing so you don’t scrub softened enamel. Small habit = big protection against summer cavities.

3. Travel Hygiene ✈️🧳
On the road or in the air? Your oral routine travels with you.
• Pack a travel toothbrush, floss, and your favorite toothpaste.
• Change your toothbrush head every 3 months (or after being sick).
• If you forget floss, use those little disposable picks. Dry mouth from plane air + irregular brushing = higher risk of plaque buildup. Stay consistent even when your schedule isn’t.

Progressive dental health isn’t about perfection — it’s about smart daily choices that add up. Your future self (and your dentist) will thank you! See less

Continuing our support for oral cancer prevention, we recommend routine checkups to detect early signs of oral cancer (most people miss them because they hide in hard-to-see spots).

Dentists and hygienists are trained to look and feel for anything unusual during your cleaning.

Simple steps to lower your risk:
• Skip to***co and limit alcohol
• Get the HPV vaccine if you’re eligible
• Brush, floss, and eat healthy

Your mouth health matters for your whole body. Book your next dental appointment and ask about an oral cancer screening. It’s quick, easy, and important!
