Dr. Martinez signing 60 checks to 60 PEP (Paramount Education Partnership) Scholarship recipients totaling almost $200,000.00. This is one of the highest amounts given in the single year since the inception of the PEP program. The scholarships ranged from $1000.00 to $4000.00 per recipient.
Dr. Martinez is the only original board member that is still currently on the board…..and still holds the office of Treasurer (hence why he gets the honor of signing each check).
“At the beginning of this program, not in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that this amount would ever been given out in a life time, let alone in one year. It could have not been done without the generosity of the Paramount businesses, and the entire, Paramount Community. Born and raised here I could not have been any prouder of this City!!
Dr Martinez congratulates each and everyone of these well-deserved PEP scholarship recipients. These students are exceptional. Which shows that our future of this country will be in great hands!! Go Pirates!!”
