Let’s unbox a Smile Design! ✨
A Smile Design is a prototype of what your smile could look like based on your features and your specific goals for your smile.
After taking and analyzing the necessary records ( photographs, measurements , digital scans), I will give the dental ceramist detailed instructions on how to design your unique smile so that it complements your face.
The ceramist will make a mold of the smile design that I will transfer to your teeth so that you can “try on” your proposed smile.

This beautiful patient is missing a front tooth which created a large gap where the tooth should be. His previous dentist closed the space with filling material years ago and it’s time for a ✨refresh✨

Extra care was given to alter the shape, proportions and tooth inclinations in order to make this lateral incisor look like a central incisor.

I’m not ashamed to admit:

1) I didn’t floss regularly until I went to dental school.

2) I sometimes lie about what I do for work.

3) Blood and pus don’t bother me but keep that filthy denture away.

4) I still feel bad about delivering bad (oral health) news to a patient.

Replacing a fractured veneer to blend with surrounding veneers requires collaboration with an excellent ceramist. 🌟

Her original veneers were made around 20 years ago by a different dentist and ceramist. Materials have changed since then and it can be challenging to get the same optical properties within different ceramics. Replacing all of them would have been much easier (!) but she wasn’t ready to do that.
