Why did I get chain this month and not single color ties?
An orthodontic power chain is a continuous elastic chain that fits over multiple brackets. Its main job is to apply a steady pulling force to move teeth closer together.

How it works
Instead of individual elastic ligatures around each bracket, the power chain connects several brackets together. The stretched elastic material creates a pulling force that gradually brings the teeth together.

Important: Power chain doesn't automatically "tighten" all the teeth together. The orthodontist chooses where to place it and how much force to use based on the specific tooth movements needed.

You know what is pretty cool? Seeing former patients highlighted.

🏐 We love seeing our former patients doing BIG things! ❤️💙

Congratulations to one of our former patients on being featured on the Sports in Kansas page for KU Volleyball!

It’s always so exciting to watch our patients grow up and chase their dreams — and even better when we get to see them competing at the collegiate level! 🏐👏

We’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next!

Rock Chalk! ❤️💙

Blue Valley Southwest Graduate and KU freshman Taylor Stanley made an immediate impact on the college stage!

The 2026 Southwest graduate recorded 20 kills, five digs and five blocks at the Opening Spike Classic and became the first Jayhawk to reach those numbers in a match since 2019.

Stanley entered her freshman season as the Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year after earning first team All EKL honors twice and helping lead Blue Valley Southwest to a 5A state runner up finish in 2025.

Have you ever wondered what type of wire we start you out in? Did you know it was designed by NASA? Nickel-titanium (NiTi) wires are superelastic orthodontic archwires used primarily in the early stages of braces to align and level crowded or rotated teeth. Shape Memory: The wire returns to its original, pre-formed arched shape after being bent or twisted.

🦷 Orthodontic problems don't always hurt… but that doesn't mean they're not causing problems.
Many people assume that if there's no pain, everything is fine. The reality is that untreated orthodontic issues can affect much more than the appearance of your smile.
Over time, bite problems may contribute to:
✔️ Excessive tooth wear
✔️ Chipped or cracked teeth
✔️ Jaw discomfort and TMJ-related problems
✔️ Gum problems caused by teeth that are difficult to clean
The good news? Identifying these concerns early often means simpler, more effective treatment before they become more complex.
💙 Whether you're concerned about your child or your own smile, an orthodontic assessment is the first step towards protecting your long-term oral health.

Give us a call today to schedule that apointment.
