💚🐸☕🪥 Happy National Best Friends Day! 🪥☕🐸💚

Every office has that one best friend. Here at Darling Children's Dentistry, we're torn between:

🐸 Our friendly frog who helps kids feel brave
🪥 Our trusty toothbrush who keeps smiles sparkling
☕ Our coffee pot that keeps the team functioning
🦷 Or our dental tools that do all the hard work

We're pretty sure the frog is winning this contest... but coffee is making a strong argument. 😆

At Darling Children's Dentistry, every day is technically “I Love My Dentist Day”… but today it’s official. 🦷💙

We know going to the dentist isn’t always every kid’s first choice… (except, of course, coming to OUR office because we’re obviously the elite, top-tier, Disney World of pediatric dentistry. 😌✨)
Somewhere between “clean your room” and “eat your vegetables,” dental visits usually land around “do I HAVE to?” 😅

But somehow, Dr. Brian has mastered the rare art of making kids laugh while holding a tiny mirror and asking them questions they physically cannot answer. Truly inspirational.

He’s got enough dad jokes stocked up to fill an entire cavity:
🪥 “What does the dentist of the year get? A little plaque.”
🪥 “You know what time it is? Tooth-hurty.”
🪥 “This appointment will be over before you can say… molar coaster.”
And honestly? The kids still laugh. Sometimes even the parents do too. Against their will.

But behind all the jokes, stickers, treasure box negotiations, silly songs, and “open biiiiig like a dinosaur,” there’s something we never take lightly — the trust families place in us.

Thank you for letting us be part of your kiddos’ lives, from tiny first teeth to wiggly tooth celebrations and every milestone smile in between. We are incredibly lucky to spend our days caring for some of the sweetest smiles around. 💙

Now everybody go floss at least ONE tooth today in honor of National I Love My Dentist Day.
Dr. Brian would be so proud. 🪥😂

The first two workaversaries of the year belong to none other than Tammy and Payton, who have officially survived — and thrived through — one whole trip around the sun with the crew here at Darling Children's Dentistry! 🎉

Even though they started just 2 days apart, you’d think these two were long-lost siblings reunited at birth with the way they team up around the office every day.

Tammy keeps things running smoothly up front as one of our Front Office Coordinators and heads home each day to enjoy country life on her farm.

Payton keeps the clinic smiling as one of our Dental Assistants and spends her free time bowling and spoiling her four-legged feline children. 🐾

One year down, countless laughs, teamwork moments, and chaos-filled office memories to go! Happy 1st Workaversary, Tammy & Payton! We’re so grateful you’re part of the Darling family! 💙🦷

✨ Front Office Appreciation Week Spotlight ✨

Today we’re celebrating our amazing Office Manager, EFDA 2, hygiene helper, maintenance gal —and truly wherever-she’s-needed superstar—Lindsea Lewis!

Lindsea has been a dedicated part of our team for over 3 years, and her heart for both our patients and our office shines through in everything she does.

She’s married to her high school sweetheart and is a proud mom of three—shes living in the middle of the busy, beautiful chaos of sports practices, games, and family life (and she wouldn’t have it any other way 💕). She believes you only get one chance to raise your kiddos and she wants to soak up every minute of it with her family.

Lindsea has a special love for children, and working in pediatric dentistry truly fills her cup. What she finds most rewarding is getting to be part of each child’s journey—watching them grow from nervous, tearful first visits into confident, smiling patients who stop by just to say hi.

We believe pediatric dentistry is for every child, and Lindsea embodies that every day. Helping kiddos overcome their fears, build confidence, and even have FUN at the dentist is what it’s all about—and she makes that happen.

🎉 Front Office Appreciation Week Spotlight 🎉

Today we’re celebrating Stefanie—our OG gal who’s been holding it down with us for 3 1/2 years now.

Born and raised right here in Ottumwa, she still calls it home, where she lives with her husband Cory, their daughters Shay & Ally, and her very serious feline household members: “Mister Templeton Bugatti Williams” and “Timmy.” (Yes, only one has a full government name.)

If you ever ask her about coffee, don’t expect a recommendation—you’ll get a strong opinion instead: “Gross! Yuck! Disgusting! Who drinks that stuff?!?!” ☕😂

Outside the office, Stefanie is usually juggling a mix of camping trips, riding SXS, and yes… still “working 😉.”

Her dream vacation? Somewhere simple and perfect: relaxing on the beaches of Jamaica 🌴

And if you ask her what's something people might not know about you?, she’ll tell you straight up: “I worry WAY MORE than you think I do.” and honestly, that says a lot about how she shows up for people every day.

One of her favorite pieces of advice that sticks with her: “Love the people God gave you because he will need them back one day.” which is probably the most unexpectedly poetic hobby we’ve ever heard.

When asked her favorite part of working here, she didn’t hesitate: “Besides the kids of course—our team! No question! Pure friendship energy and we get paid to hang out together all day AND call it a job!”

We couldn’t agree more.

Today we’re shining a spotlight on Tammy!

Tammy has been a valued part of our front office team at Darling Children’s Dentistry for the past year, and she brings so much heart to everything she does. She’s been married to her husband, Scott, and together they’ve raised five amazing kids. At home in Blakesburg, you’ll likely find her doing what she loves most—working with her cattle and horses.

Her crew at home is just as full of personality—Maeve (her dog), Lucy Lou (her Longhorn cow), plus cats, chickens, horses, and more!

Her favorite part of working here is the excitement of the littles—it’s what makes every day so special. 💛

She’s a country music fan through and through, and if you’re making a coffee run for her… make sure it’s BLACK ☕😉

This week we’re celebrating one of the smiling faces that keeps our office running smoothly—Stacey Lindsey! 💙

Stacey has been part of our team for 6 months, and in that time she’s made such a meaningful impact. Her favorite part of being here? Being part of something that truly makes a difference in the lives of children—and it shows in everything she does!

When she’s not at the front desk, Stacey’s world is full of love and laughter. She’s been married to the love of her life for 33 years, is a proud mom of two, and a devoted grandma to her two granddaughters. Her home is always buzzing with family, grandbabies, and lots of joy—just the way she likes it! 🏡💕

You’ll usually find Stacey with a cup of black coffee in hand (her secret to keeping up with all the littles ☕😉), talking about a good book, or sharing stories about her adorable pups, Piddles and Roxie 🐾
