Brett Bolton , a hip disarticulation amputee, has been a POA patient for 17 of his 20 years. Brett was always an active kid, participating in sports such as gymnastics and all things fast! He was introduced to sled hockey while in middle school and it became a passion. He took the sport to its highest level, participating in the 2026 winter Paralympics on gold medal winning ! Although playing sled hockey is challenging, Brett says his biggest challenge was when he recently climbed Mount Sherman in Colorado. Between the steep climb, rocky terrain and strong winds, Brett really had to fight to stay upright and keep going —but he made it to the top! 💪🏼 🛘🦿

Little Jude is a BIG New York Knicks 🏀 fan and Jalen Brunson ‘s #1 fan! ! He proudly displays the team colors and logo on his prostheses. Jude also predicted that they would come back after being 29 points down in game 4 of the finals; he turned the tv volume off and danced to his own music while cheering them on to victory! 🎉🏀

Mia has successfully worn the XOS brace for five years. Before that, she wore a traditional brace that went inside her shoe, which made it necessary to buy shoes two sizes bigger and wider to accommodate it. She had a wound on her foot from rubbing and pressure of the braces against her skin. After we fit Mia with the XOS, the wound – which she had been battling for over 2 years – completely healed.

The XOS is a unique, patented brace system, which includes a carbon fiber plate that is inserted and directly attached within the sole of the wearer’s shoe to provide unparalleled comfort and energy in every step! This system has been successfully fit on patients with partial foot amputations, foot drop, paralysis and various other injuries/conditions.

How do you get a five year old to try out a new prosthesis? You make it fun! Danielle danced, played tag, and walked around “the POA maze.” She also made lots of friends! Rick, Danielle’s prosthetist, has a way with kids, and a lot of that comes from his own experience as a child amputee. He didn’t mind going to his prosthetist because he got to do fun things like kick a ball around, play basketball, etc. 🔥💕🦿

Mike considers his prosthetic leg to be his “good” leg. He struggles with staying on the prosthesis long enough to give his other leg—which has undergone extensive surgical procedures— a break. This week, Mike was able to trial the INTUY powered MPK. The powered extension and flexion function really smoothed out his gait and allowed him to spend more time on his prosthetic side. 🦿👍🏻 #
