From BMX racing to track and field, and now, diving, there isn’t a sport that 15 year old, “Trip,” an AK amputee, hasn’t excelled at! He recently participated in the Red-White-Blue Team National Championships here in Orlando. We are super proud of Trip and can’t wait to see what he tries next! 💪🏼🔥🦿

Chris has become very confident walking inside the parallel bars using one hand, however, It’s a whole different ballgame walking outside them with crutches. He is building his confidence and getting stronger with every step — we just need to remind him to breathe sometimes! 😊 Chris has set goals, and the most important one is to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding this summer. He’s been working hard with Will Castillo .s toward that goal, and each week he’s getting closer to achieving it! 🦿🦿💪🏼

After we delivered Summer’s finished prosthesis with a beautiful, glittery gold socket, she took off walking without mom or dad holding her hand! Soon she will be coming back to POA to be fit with a running blade, and then she’ll be all set for school! It’s “Summer time!” 😊💕✨🦿

Max, now nine, underwent a hip disarticulation amputation five years ago due to cancer. He was unable to wear/use a prosthetic leg comfortably until last year, and since then, he has made up for lost time! We received the following text and pic/video from Max’s mom yesterday: “The guys at this racetrack in Fun spot, Orlando let Max try his leg out to drive and he did amazing , everyone was shouting for him and gave him lots of props when he got off the track ! This was one of the best days ever for him , he had so much fun he went back on atleast 6 more times.” We love seeing our POA kids “just be kids” and living their best lives! Go, Max! 🔥🦿💪🏼

Tatum was born with a limb difference and Summer lost her leg to cancer last year. Both girls are new to our practice and formed a fast friendship when they arrived on Monday. 🥰👯 Yesterday, Tatum tried out her first ever running blade, and Summer took her first independent steps - with the help of her new friend! 💕 This is just another example of the power of POA peer support! We finished the day with a birthday party for Summer, who will be turning eight this weekend! So much to celebrate! 🎉🦿🦿
