As of March 1st, I would like to formally announce my retirement from Sharkus Hometown Dentistry. It has been my sincere pleasure serving the people of Oregon and surrounding communities. It was always my number one goal to treat each and every one of you as friends and family by always looking out for YOUR best interest. I wanted to create an office that was not only professional, but relaxing enough to make everyone feel at home. An environment where people could just be themselves and maybe even joke around every now and then. Yes, I will certainly miss the "friendly banter" with some of you!! 😀
I'm going to miss seeing all the families I've been fortunate enough to take care of and see grow over the last 20+ years of practice and also those that are no longer with us. They all hold a special place in my heart.
That being said, I feel completely confident handing the reins to Dr. Ellingson. He is very passionate about continuing to provide you with the best "patient focused" care and brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and skill with him as well.
I also want to send out a huge thank you to those girls that have helped me make this journey possible along the way:
Nicole- The OG of the office. Nicole took that leap of faith with me back in the day and always shared a passion for not only her patients, but also the success of the practice as if it was her own. There are no words to express how grateful I am to her and how lucky we have been to have her providing outstanding care for her patients.
Erica- Erica came to the office after a short time working in a pediatric clinic right after hygiene school. I've had the pleasure of watching her grow over the years and see her become an outstanding hygienist in her own right. Now she has a family with 3 beautiful children of her own. How the years fly!
Leah- Leah does a little bit of everything in the office and probably had the toughest job because she had to work side by side with me everyday. That might be why she became the "prankster" of the office just to keep everyone from wanting to strangle me sometimes. Dr. J better keep his head on a swivel!🤣
Ahren- After what she will say was "years of me begging", Ahren finally joined our office and is by far the best patient coordinator you will ever find. This is a girl who used to read dental magazines for fun! Who does that?? Her vast knowledge of the profession and insurance has been invaluable to me and our patients.
Rianna-Rianna joined us a few years ago and is still wondering what she got herself into. 🙂 I consider her the "teacher" of the office, always wanting to educate her patients on all things oral health.
Last, but certainly not least, a huge thank you to my wife, Jessica for supporting me through this entire journey. I will be forever grateful for everything you have done and all the sacrifices you have made for me and our family.
Here's to wishing you all a lifetime of healthy happy smiles!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeff Sharkus DDS
