Congratulations to Dr. Ellis on becoming the 1st woman Fellow member inducted into the Southern Academy! After 97 years the organization welcomed Dr. Ellis as its 30th member last night at the Southern Academy of Periodontics meeting in Sarasota, FL. Well deserved recognition for everything she has done and continues to do for her profession.

Congrats to Dr Mona TW Ellis for receiving the Hoffman Award yesterday given out by the South Carolina Dental Association it is the highest award they give out! For her many years of service, putting education, and stewardship foremost it is a very much so well derserved honor. Love you mom

What benefits do you think come with being a vegetarian? This dental study shows that there are both pros and cons that come with this way of life.

German researchers have found that vegetarians have a better periodontal status compared with meat eaters. In a recent study, they showed less inflammation, less periodontal damage and better dental home care. However, their dental status was worse than that of non-vegetarians.
