Ouch!

Said Sally, after a liberal bite of ice cream.

Sensitive teeth are common, but just because they’re common doesn’t mean they’re welcome.

While the phenomenon of sensitive teeth is caused by a number of different factors, we have a few ready solutions to the problem:

First, and obviously, use a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth.

Second, use only soft bristled toothbrushes.

Third, if you are a grinder, consider using a mouthguard at night.

And, lastly – come visit us ;)

We’ve missed you.

A dentist's hands are used to repair fractured teeth, remove tooth decay, and to fill cavities.

But what’s really happening upstairs?

Among their many responsibilities, a good dentist will provide meaningful advice on how to maintain good dental hygiene.

This can include instruction on how to clean the teeth, how to prevent issues before they arise, and even dietary advice to ensure that your teeth remain healthy and strong.

Many dental issues remain symptomless until they become more serious.

If you feel like you could improve your dental health, drop us a question in the comments below and we’ll let you know how to get started today :)

One study found that 73% of Americans brush their teeth twice per day.

For the other 27%, here is some info for you!

Preventing tooth decay can be very simple, and one of the best ways to achieve this is to brush twice daily: once before you go to bed, and once at some other point during the day.

Fluoride toothpaste works the best in this case.

Keep that up, see your dentist twice per year, and you’re in the clear!

A question we receive a lot is…
Why do my gums bleed when I brush/floss my teeth?
The most common reason is that you have an excess buildup of plaque or tartar, which comes from eating sugary or acidic foods, and a lack of brushing.
Plaque and tartar allow bacteria to grow along the gumline.
Regularly brushing and flossing can help to prevent sensitivity and bleeding from the gums.
We'll say it again - brush your teeth!

At what time do people go to the dentist?

At tooth-hurty…

But seriously, don’t wait for pain before you go to the dentist. Tooth decay doesn’t show symptoms in its early stages, and great dental health can be easily achieved through regular appointments ;)

When should you go to the dentist?

A question older than time.

If you are feeling pain in your teeth or gums, that’s definitely a good time to go.

But what you may not have considered is that pain could have been prevented by semi-annual check ups.

Your dentist can help diagnose problems and offer simple solutions before they turn into something more serious.

So make sure to make an appointment once every six months, and don't forget to floss! ;)

Did you know that tooth decay comes as a result of the things we eat and drink?

Unfortunately, delicious treats like sweets, chocolate, soft drinks and fruit juice all generate plaque acids that will break down the surface of the tooth when allowed to build up.

To make things worse there are no noticeable symptoms of tooth decay in its early stages, and it is common for people to only visit their dentist after they've realized there is an issue. Ouch!

The good news is that your dentist can spot early-stage cavities through x-rays or a routine dental examination.

So if you like to enjoy all the tasty treats this world has to offer, come visit us at [custom variable] and we’ll be pleased to ensure that your pearly whites remain happy, healthy and strong!
