Quick heads up, because this happens every October.

December feels far away right now. But take out Thanksgiving week, the holidays, and the days we're closed, and there are far fewer appointment days left this year than the calendar makes it look.

Those days fill up. They always do. If you've been putting off a cleaning, a filling, or treatment we've already talked about, now is the time to get it on the books — not December, when we're often scheduling into the new year.

And if you have dental benefits, most plans reset January 1. Whatever you haven't used doesn't roll over.

A dental degree in 1998. Practice in Cuba. Practice in the Andes Mountains of Venezuela. And for years now, right here in Central Florida.

Different countries, different languages, very different resources — but the same work every time. Sit down with a person, listen to what they're worried about, and get them back to their life.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, Dr. Labrada is thinking about the patients and mentors along that road, and about this community in Orange City where so many of our patients and our team share that same heritage.

An implant denture attaches to implants placed in the jaw instead of resting on the gums. It snaps securely into place and stays more securely in place.

After this season. After they graduate. When things finally settle down.
But things don't settle down — they just change shape.

If you've had a tooth extracted and a bone graft placed, this one is for you.

The graft is there to preserve the bone so an implant can be placed later. But bone is living tissue — without a root or an implant stimulating it, the body slowly resorbs it. The ridge narrows, then shortens.

We see patients return a year or two after the graft, ready for the implant, only to find there's no longer enough bone to place it predictably. That means a second graft, more healing, and more cost.

The extraction, the graft, and the implant are one plan — not three separate decisions. Followed on schedule, the result is predictable.
