Hello to everyone and we hope this notice finds you all safe and well. We have missed you all!
We are in the process of formulating and activating a restart to our practice during these challenging times. Our office infection protocols have always been quite stringent and we do not expect to change them significantly. In anticipation of our office reopening on Monday June 1st, we will be extending the operating procedures that were implemented during the first two weeks in March before we closed.
1. To reduce the number of people in the reception area, we ask that parents and family members wait in their cars during the patient's appointment.
2. Upon your arrival, please call the receptionist to announce your arrival. The patient can then enter and briefly wait in the reception area. An assistant will greet you and, by health department recommendation, scan your temperature with a laser thermometer. These scans will continue until the public health recommendations are lifted.
3. A parent or guardian can enter, if requested, as long as proper social distancing requirements can be met at that particular moment. If desired, payments can be made on site, although mailed or "called in" payments. The auto-pay option is also available. Scheduling for patient's next appointment(s) will be done post-appointment by the assistants. Parents may call the receptionist if that appointment date/time needs to be changed.
4. Door handles, the reception desk and all dental delivery workstations will be disinfected for each patient.
5. Dr. Denison and the Assistants will be wearing masks. Two different types of masks will be utilized, depending on the procedure. Fluid and aerosol resistant masks will be worn during procedures that produce water droplets. Standard mask will be worn during "dry" wire adjustment procedures. Additionally, face shields will also be worn in accordance to procedures and preferences.
6. Toothbrushing at the sinks will no longer be done, for now. We ask patients to brush and floss prior to their appointment.
7. The amount of patients in the treatment area will be reduced in order to adhere to proper social distancing protocols.
8. New patients and their parents will be scheduled to allow for maximum access to the reception area and a private treatment room to reduce social distancing concerns.
9. We kindly ask all non-patients and parents to wear a mask in the office until health department rules are lifted.
10.Dr. Denison strongly prefers meeting with prospective patients and parents directly as he considers it essential in developing a positive long-term relationship. Nevertheless, teleconferencing will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
