Meet Dr. Jones 🦷

Continuing our Meet Our Doctors series, meet Dr. Jason Jones, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who is proud to be back home serving the West Texas community where he grew up.

Dr. Jones was born and raised right here in West Texas, graduating from Permian High School and the University of Texas Permian Basin. He went on to earn his dental degree from UT Health San Antonio, where he graduated with a distinction in research and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He then earned his medical degree from UT Health San Antonio School of Medicine before completing his general surgery internship and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency in San Antonio.

Dr. Jones is board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery and has published numerous scientific articles in his field, receiving both regional and national recognition. His clinical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, advanced bone reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery, TMJ rehabilitation and reconstruction, and traumatic facial injury repair.

In addition to caring for patients in our office, Dr. Jones provides facial trauma care at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa and Midland Memorial Hospital, helping treat patients with complex facial injuries throughout the Permian Basin.

For Dr. Jones caring for patients goes beyond surgery. His goal is to treat every patient like a member of his own family, helping them feel comfortable, heard, and cared for throughout their experience.

We’re grateful to have Dr. Jones as part of our team and especially proud to have a surgeon who grew up in this community now giving back and caring for the patients and families who call the Permian Basin home.

Meet Dr. Erickson 🦷

Next in our Meet Our Doctors series we’re introducing Dr. Helaman Erickson, one of our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons at Permian Basin Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center.

Originally from Arizona, Dr. Erickson graduated from Arizona State University before earning his dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.

His extensive training includes a general surgery internship, advanced training in anesthesiology, and oral and maxillofacial surgery training at UT Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital, one of the premier training programs in the specialty.

Dr. Erickson specializes in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with particular interests in dental implant surgery, full-arch replacement (ProArch, All-on-4®, and “teeth in a day”), corrective jaw surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, and maxillofacial trauma. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

With extensive training in dentistry, medicine, anesthesiology, and surgery, Dr. Erickson is uniquely equipped to provide comprehensive surgical care for patients of all ages. We’re proud to have him on our team and grateful for the knowledge, expertise, and dedication he brings to our patients every day.

Meet Dr. Fuentes 🦷

We’ve welcomed many new followers recently, and we’d love to take the opportunity to introduce you to the doctors who make up our team! We’re kicking off our Meet Our Doctors series with Dr. Robert Fuentes, one of our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons serving our patients at Permian Basin Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center.

Dr. Fuentes earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University before earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. He went on to complete a six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Baylor College of Dentistry, where he also earned his medical doctorate (MD) from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and completed a general surgery internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

With years of experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Fuentes brings extensive surgical and medical training to every patient he serves. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of multiple professional organizations.

We’re proud to have Dr. Fuentes as part of our team and grateful for the expertise, dedication, and compassionate care he brings to our patients and their families every day. We can’t wait for you to get to know him and the rest of our incredible surgical team!
