Dr. Penny Laowansiri was born and grew up in Bangkok, Thailand. In 2001, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) with honors. Dr. Laowansiri started her orthodontic residency at the Center for Advanced Dental Education at St. Louis University in June 2009 and earned her Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics in June 2012. Her Master's Thesis, "Maxillary Growt
h and Maturation during Infancy and Early Childhood," was published in Angle Orthodontist on Nov 2012. Dr. Laowansiri is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Florida Association of Orthodontists, and American Dental Association. She has volunteered with Give Kids a Smile, Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club; Primary Dental Care Unit Affiliated with Government Community Hospital, Home for Children with Intellectual Disabilities, and Oral Health Care Service Program in Rural Areas. When she's not practicing orthodontics, Dr. Laowansiri enjoys workouts at the gym, yoga, badminton, cooking, reading, and travelling. "We are so fortunate to have someone with such a high degree of skill, training, and experience join our team but what makes Dr. Penny so special to us is her genuine warm and caring personality that she has with all patients," says her team.
