Ages 1 • 7 • 15 — three important milestones that help set the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles 🦷✨

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that every child have their first dental visit by age 1 (or within 6 months of the first tooth erupting). Early visits focus on prevention, healthy habits, and catching concerns before they become bigger problems.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Even if braces aren’t needed yet, this is the ideal time to identify jaw growth issues, bite problems, or crowding while treatment options are often simpler.

The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons recommends that teens be evaluated around age 15–16 for wisdom teeth. Monitoring their development early helps determine whether they have enough room to erupt properly or if intervention may be beneficial.
