Coffee first? Actually, your toothbrush might want to go first. ☕🦷

If you can, plan to brush before your morning coffee. Coffee is acidic, so brushing immediately afterward can be tougher on temporarily softened enamel.

Already had your cup? No worries! Rinse with water, chew sugar-free gum, and wait about 30 minutes before brushing.

Keep the morning joe. Just give your smile a smarter routine! 😄

Your mouth has a pH level, and your teeth are VERY invested in keeping it balanced. 🧪🦷

Every time you eat or drink, especially something sugary or acidic, the pH in your mouth can drop. When things become acidic enough, minerals can begin leaving your tooth enamel in a process called demineralization. Frequent acid exposure can eventually increase your risk of enamel erosion and cavities.

Luckily, your saliva is constantly working behind the scenes to neutralize acids and deliver minerals that help strengthen enamel again. 💪

A few ways to help your mouth maintain a healthy balance? Drink plenty of water, avoid sipping sugary or acidic drinks all day, give your mouth breaks between snacks, and keep up with brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits.
