This beautiful young lady in her early twenties came to our practice looking for help after years of struggling with a very complicated dental history — missing permanent teeth with retained baby teeth, weak / resorbed root structure, and severe lack of bone/ridge volume
Every recommendation she had received before coming to us followed the same path:
Remove all the teeth, undergo years of soft and hard grafting procedures, and eventually restore with implants. Which certainly can be a solid treatment plan.
But in her case, it also meant a long, invasive process that would have left her without teeth during some of the most important and memorable years of her life.
To me, treatment planning is not just about what is clinically solid and permanent. It is more about understanding the patient, their stage in life, and how treatment impacts their confidence, daily experiences, and overall well-being.
So instead, we chose a different path.
We focused on preserving her natural teeth for as long as possible, restoring her smile with full and partial coverage ceramic restorations, and developing a phased implant plan for the future when the timing is right.
In just a few visits, we were able to restore not only her smile, but also her confidence — while setting her up for long-term stability and future treatment success.
Cases like this are a reminder that dentistry is not only about restoring the teeth.
Rather it is about caring for the person behind the smile.
Much thanks to our dear patient for allowing us to share her beautiful smile.
