Gentle Family Dentistry Dr. Allison Beehner, DMD

Dr. Allison Beehner (formerly Buss) grew up in Towanda, IL and attended Normal Community High School.

She then graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and has been practicing in Normal since. Dr. Beehner and her husband, Brandon, live in rural Towanda and are very active in the BN community, volunteering with the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees, and free dental clinics in town. Dr Beehner joined the board of the Child Protection Network in 2017 and is currently the secreta

ry/treasurer of the McLean County Dental Society. Dr Beehner and her husband have three young daughters who keep them very busy. They also spend their free time cycling and competing in area bike races and triathlons. Dr. Beehner enjoys working with patients of all ages and looks forward to meeting the families in her practice as well as new patients!

Peep the world’s best office/coworkers/friends…. Not only did my staff spoil me ALL week with 40th bday treats, but today we had an amazing baked potato bar, a beautiful cake by Molly Robinson, they donated money to Child Protection Network in my name AND surprised me by all staying after work to clean up the landscaping outside the office!! To say I am blessed is an understatement.

A letter from Dr. Beehner:

🦷 Gentle Family Dentistry is Growing!! 🦷

I write this letter with so much excitement.

Many of you remember reading a similar letter almost 11 years ago when your beloved dentist Dr Chow announced his retirement and some young doc was coming in the practice to try to fill his shoes. (Me) Thank you for all of you who have given me a chance and allowed me to care for you and your families. I’m so thankful for what I do!

I have been waiting the last 8 years to write this letter to you now. You see, when I came to this dental practice in 2013, I brought a really bright, aspiring young woman along as my assistant. She had recently graduated from Loyola University and was wanting to learn more about the dental field before she went back to school. She trained side by side with me until she left to go to dental school herself. I crossed my fingers and toes at that point that she would choose to come back to her hometown and would want to work together in some capacity.

Over the last 8 years I have watched her grow; finishing dental school, continuing on with a general practitioner residency in Syracuse, NY at SUNY hospital, then joining a fantastic office near where her husband finished training for flight nursing and completed his MSN.

We stayed in touch and talked about working together someday. In the meantime I had three beautiful, busy daughters, Dr Chow retired, and our practice grew! As you know, people crave a dental office where their teeth are cared for with skilled hands, but also their overall well being is cared for with open hearts. We strive to do both for all of you. We share your joys with the birth of children, marriage, vacations, and we sit in sorrow with you when you lose loved ones.

We pride ourselves in caring for your whole being, with a specialty in your mouth.

I am so excited to tell you all that Dr. Sara Seus will be joining me in January to bring the same level of commitment and care to our office.

We will work side by side to bring Bloomington Normal the best dental care. I am excited to have even more time to spend with my patients and an extra brilliant mind to talk dentistry with. We will grow and learn from each other.
