He flashed a big smile for the camera with an underbite and the dentist in me couldn’t help herself but coach him to fix it 🤣

The good news? He was just being silly.

The reminder? If your child naturally bites with their lower teeth in front of their upper teeth, it’s worth having it evaluated early while they’re still growing.

This was a special case. This patient came to me with worn down teeth from years of wear and a bite that was continuing to break down.

Without rebuilding her bite, that process would only continue. I showed her what was possible, and she trusted me with her care.

I couldn’t be happier with the outcome, but the best part has been watching her confidence grow. She has told me several times how often people compliment her smile now, and seeing how radiant she is when she smiles makes all the hard work worth it. ✨🤍

Do you have one tooth—or just a few—that make you feel self-conscious when you smile?

Not every smile transformation requires multiple veneers or a complete smile makeover. Sometimes, addressing a single tooth is all it takes to restore confidence.

This patient was treated with just one veneer. While it’s one of the most conservative cosmetic options, it’s also one of the most technically challenging. A single veneer has to blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural teeth—matching the shade, translucency, texture, and shape so well that it simply disappears.

The goal isn’t for anyone to notice the veneer. The goal is for them to notice the smile. 🤍

6 years ago today, I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery — 8 months pregnant with my firstborn son, from my parents’ living room 🤣 (thanks, COVID).

In all seriousness, I’m incredibly grateful for the education I received, the family who supported me every step of the way, my mentors, and of course the patients who have trusted me with their care over the years.

I can honestly say I love what I do, and I don’t take that for granted ❤️.

I always leave these courses a little emotional—because of the relationships built, the conversations shared, and the time spent with incredibly talented, like-minded professionals who truly care about what they do.

It reinvigorates me every single time and reminds me how lucky I am to be part of this profession.
