❤️🦷Happy National Boss’s Day to Dr. Matt & Dr. Monica! 🦷❤️

Did you know that before becoming pediatric dentists and opening M&M Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Matt and Dr. Monica had some pretty different jobs? 🤭

🍿 Dr. Matt worked at a movie theater, Verizon, and RadioShack!

🐄Dr. Monica worked at Chick-fil-A, as a tutor, and as a dental assistant!

They both know what it's like to be employees, work long hours, juggle responsibilities, and have a boss! Those experiences have helped shape the kind of bosses they strive to be today.

They understand that being an employee isn't always easy, and they never want their team to feel unappreciated, unheard, or taken for granted.

Every day, they try their best to create a workplace where their staff feels supported, respected, comfortable, and genuinely happy to come to work. They know they aren't perfect, but they believe that being a good boss means listening, learning, showing appreciation, and treating employees the way they would want to be treated. 💜

At M&M Pediatric Dentistry, we truly believe that a happy, appreciated team is the heart of a great practice!

We are so thankful for our amazing staff and everything they do for our patients, our families, and our office. We couldn't do this without them!

🎉 SIX MONTHS OF M&M PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY! 🎉

Six months ago today, we opened the doors to a dream we had been working toward for years. What started as a vision to create a different kind of pediatric dental experience has turned into something even more special than we imagined.

We are so grateful to every family who has trusted us with their children’s smiles, supported our small business, and helped us grow over these first six months.

At M&M Pediatric Dentistry, that’s exactly what we’re working to create!

As a family-owned practice and parents ourselves, we understand how important it is for children to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. We believe a trip to the dentist should be something kids look forward to, not something they fear.

We’ve created a space where kids can have fun, feel comfortable, and actually look forward to their dental visits! With a welcoming atmosphere, a gentle approach, and a little extra love from our office comfort dog, Remy, we do everything we can to make each visit a positive, stress-free experience. 💙

We take the time to build trust, ease dental anxiety, and help each child feel comfortable at their own pace. We never want a child to feel rushed or pressured, and parents are ALWAYS welcome back with their little ones!

One of our favorite things is hearing kids ask their parents when they get to come back to the dentist! 🥹

🦷 Baby’s first tooth… now what?!🦷

Our baby Sam recently got his first tooth, so we’re officially brushing another tiny smile in our house! As pediatric dentists and parents, we thought this was the perfect time to answer a few questions we hear all the time:

💜When should my baby first see a dentist?
By their first birthday or within 6 months of their first tooth coming in, whichever comes first!

🪥 Do I really need to brush if there’s only ONE tooth?
Yes! As soon as that first little tooth appears, it’s time to start brushing twice a day with a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.

🤏 How much toothpaste?
For children under 3, you only need a tiny smear about the size of a grain of rice. From ages 3–6, use a pea-sized amount.

🍼 What about bottles at bedtime?
Try to avoid putting your baby to sleep with a bottle containing milk, formula, juice, or other sugary drinks. When those liquids sit on the teeth overnight, they can increase the risk of cavities. Water is the best choice if they need a drink after brushing.

💡 Parent tip: If your baby still needs a bottle of milk to fall asleep, let them finish their bottle, then sneak back in and give those teeth a quick brush before they’re completely asleep!

They may fuss for a minute (we know from experience! 😅), but they usually settle right back down. This way, they still get the comfort of their bedtime bottle without milk sitting on their teeth all night.

And remember, the first dental visit isn’t just about checking for cavities! It’s a chance to talk about brushing, fluoride, teething, feeding habits, pacifiers and anything else you’re wondering about.

We’re going through these stages too with our smiley Sam, and we love helping our M&M families along the way. 💙🦷

🦷🩵 Today we’re celebrating our smiley Sam’s FIRST TOOTH! 🩵🦷

That little tooth finally made its debut, which means it’s officially time to start brushing! 🪥✨

Did you know the AAPD recommends starting oral care even before the first tooth appears? Parents can gently clean baby’s gums with a soft, clean cloth or soft infant toothbrush and water. This helps keep their mouth clean and gets baby accustomed to having their mouth cared for.

🦷 Once that first tooth erupts, start brushing twice a day with a soft, age-appropriate toothbrush and a tiny smear (about the size of a grain of rice) of fluoride toothpaste.

And that first little tooth means it’s also time to think about their first dental visit! The AAPD recommends establishing a dental home when the first tooth appears and no later than their first birthday.
